Tata Motors has recently launched the facelift of its micro-SUV, the Punch. This new model brings with it a new exterior styling, an updated interior, new features, and updated safety equipment. What increases the value of this package now is a perfect 5-star safety rating at Bharat NCAP. The Punch has performed exceptionally well, keeping all dummy occupants safe.
Let’s take a closer look at how the 2026 Tata Punch Facelift has performed at Bharat NCAP:
Score: 30.58/32
Starting off with the adult occupation scores, the 2026 Tata Punch has scored 30.58 out of a maximum 32 points, giving the car a clear and impressive 5 stars. The driver dummy has received an adequate protection rating for the chest, knees and feet while the head and thighs have received a ‘good’ safety rating in the frontal offset deformable barrier. As for the co-driver dummy, it has received an overall ‘good’ safety rating for all the parts except for the right knee, which has been rated as ‘adequate’.

In the side deformable barrier test, except the chest which got an ‘adequate’ protection, all other parts received ‘good’ protection. The Punch passed the side pole impact test with a perfect ‘good’ protection for all body parts.
Score: 45.00/49
Moving towards the Child Occupation Protection scores, the 2026 Tata Punch has secured 45 points out of a maximum of 49 points, earning it 5 stars in this category as well. It has also scored a full 24 out of 24 in the dynamic tests, along with a score of 12 out of 12 in CRS installation tests, ensuring that the child seats are fitted firmly and securely for adequate protection.

In terms of the vehicle assessment score, the new Punch has scored 9 out of 13, which, though decent, still leaves slight room for improvement.
Tata has loaded the new Punch with a bunch of safety equipment. What’s new with the facelift is a 360-degree camera with blind view monitor as well as front parking sensors. 6 airbags have also been made standard across the lineup.

It also comes with other features such as ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, hill-hold assist, hill-descent control, tyre pressure monitoring system, and three-point seatbelts with reminders for all occupants.
The new Punch starts from Rs 5.59 lakh to Rs 10.54 lakh (ex-showroom) and will compete with cars like the Hyundai Exter, Citroen C3, Nissan Magnite, Maruti Suzuki Fronx, Renault Kiger, and the Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor.

Tata Motors has always been known for delivering the safest cars in the segment, and with the 2026 Punch, the legacy has been carried on. The Punch continues to be the safest offering in the segment, along with being one of the most feature-loaded as well. This makes the new Tata Punch a very value-for-money offering.
