The Tata Curvv is the newest entrant in the popular compact SUV segment. However, unlike other SUVs in the segment, it has its own unique SUV-coupe design which helps it stand out among its rivals. In this article, we will be comparing it with the best-selling compact SUV, the Hyundai Creta. We have detailed their prices, features, design, and specifications to find out which SUV would be a more practical buy for a similar price:

As seen in the table above, the Curvv’s base variant undercuts the entry-level variant of the Creta by a lakh. However, things are different with the top-spec variants where the Creta is around Rs 2.5 lakh more expensive than the Curvv. Now let’s take a look at which the two SUVs offer:
Both Creta and Curvv feature modern design elements such as connected LED DRLs and connected LED tail lamps. The Creta has a more conventional silhouette, while the Curvv gets a unique coupe design. Here is a look at their dimensions:

The Hyundai Creta is the longer and taller SUV, but the difference here is not much. Similarly, the Curvv is wider, but not by a lot. The Curvv offers a larger boot space, but it is the Creta which sits on a longer wheelbase. A larger wheelbase means that it has a more spacious cabin, at least on paper.

In terms of features, the Curvv and Creta are one of the best-equipped SUVs in the segment. Enter the cabin and you won’t feel the need for more in either of these SUVs. However, the Curvv is slightly ahead, as it offers some added niceties like a powered tailgate with gesture control, a larger infotainment unit, wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple Carplay and an extra speaker. The Creta on the other hand gets a dual-zone climate control which is a miss on the Curvv.

Both SUVs come with petrol and diesel engine options.
The Creta’s petrol engines are larger and its turbo-petrol produces the most output.
Petrol variants of both SUVs get a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT.
The diesel variant of the Curvv gets a 7-speed DCT, while that of the Creta gets a 6-speed automatic transmission
Hyundai is a stalwart in the compact SUV segment and the Tata Curvv is here to challenge it. Both SUVs offer a well-rounded package with a feature-loaded cabin, modern design elements and multiple engine options.
The Curvv is for you, if you want some extra niceties and a unique looking stylish SUV-coupe, while being okay with slightly lesser space in the cabin. However, if you are someone who prefers the conventional compact SUV design, you can opt for the Creta. It also has a more powerful petrol engine and is an SUV that has proved itself over the years and has been the choice of many buyers.
