Honda recently launched the all-new QC3 electric scooter in India at Rs 1.35 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). With a modern design, a claimed IDC range of 145 km and a practical feature list, the QC3 looks quite promising on-paper. Here are the top five things you need to know about Honda’s latest electric scooter.

Modern And Minimalistic Design

The Honda QC3 gets a modern and minimalistic design that should appeal to family scooter buyers. It features an apron-mounted LED headlight with a slim and simple DRL strip above it. The electric scooter is available in four triple-tone colour options: Matt Photon Gray Metallic, Pearl Precious White, Pearl Shallow Blue and Pearl Siren Blue. All four shades complement the scooter’s overall design quite well.

145km Claimed IDC Range

Powering the QC3 is a 3 kWh battery pack, which offers a claimed IDC (Indian Driving Condition) range of 145km. This is a fairly usable figure for an electric scooter in this price range. Honda claims the battery can be charged from 0 to 80 per cent in 2 hours and 40 minutes. However, the Japanese manufacturer is yet to reveal details such as the motor output, top speed and real-world range.

Gets 12-inch Alloy Wheels

The QC3 comes equipped with 12-inch alloy wheels at both ends. Suspension duties are handled by a conventional telescopic fork at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. For braking, the scooter gets a front disc and rear drum setup, along with CBS (Combined Braking System).

Packed With Useful Features

Honda has equipped the QC3 with a 5-inch TFT instrument console featuring smartphone connectivity. It also gets turn-by-turn navigation, SMS and call alerts, and music controls. For added practicality, the scooter gets a generous 32-litre underseat storage compartment and keyless ignition.

Priced At Rs 1.35 Lakh

The Honda QC3 is priced at Rs 1.35 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), putting it in a competitive part of the electric scooter segment. It rivals the likes of the Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube, and the Ather Rizta.

Unlike the previously introduced Activa e: and QC1, the new QC3 looks quite promising on paper. Its claimed range, features and practicality could make it a suitable option for family scooter buyers. That said, Honda is yet to reveal some key specifications, which will be important to properly judge the QC3 against its rivals.
