Hyundai recently launched the facelifted Alcazar on our shores, with prices starting from Rs 14.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV is available in 4 different variants to choose from, namely, Executive, Prestige, Platinum, and Signature. In this article, we explain the base-spec Executive variant using 10 real-life images, giving you and idea of how it would look in flesh:
The Alcazar Executive variant’s fascia gets all the modern design elements which you get with the top-spec version. These elements include the H-shaped LED DRLs, and LED headlamps. The LED DRLs are connected, and are positioned above the Hyundai logo and the new large grille. Adding a bit of contrast and bulk to the front look is the silver skid plate on the bumper.
In profile, you miss out on certain bits that are available as you go higher in the variants lineup. For starters, you get 17-inch alloy wheels, instead of the 18-inch units that are available from the Platinum variant onwards. You get body-coloured door handles, roof rails finished in silver, and LED indicators mounted on the ORVM. To round off the look, it gets skid plates on the lower parts of the door.
The rear features connected LED tail lights, which form an “H” shape.. It gets the ‘Alcazar’ lettering and ‘Turbo’ badging (with the petrol only). It sports a dual-tip exhaust which looks sporty and adding to its rugged appeal is the silver skid plate which is large and prominent. It misses out on a dual-tone roof spoiler and a shark fin antenna.
The cabin of the Alcazar’s base-spec variant gets a dual-tone brown and navy blue interior theme, same as the other variants. It is available only with the 7-seater configuration, which features bench seats for the middle row passengers. It comes with fabric seats instead of the leatherette seats offered with the higher-spec variants.
The biggest miss here is the infotainment system, which is available from the Prestige variant of the facelifted Alcazar. However, it gets plenty of other essential features, such as a dual-zone climate control, a semi-digital driver’s display, keyless entry, push-button start/stop, rear AC vents, cooled glovebox, electrically adjustable ORVMs, and cruise control.
In terms of safety, it gets six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), a reversing camera with sensors, hill-start assist, rear defogger, and a rear wiper with washer.
To check out the features of the top-spec Alcazar, head over to our story.
Here are the details of its powertrain options:

As seen above, the base-spec Alcazar gets both petrol and diesel powertrains, but misses out on the automatic transmission options. The manual gearbox available is a 6-speed unit.
The Hyundai Alcazar Executive’s price ranges from Rs 14.99 lakh for the petrol to Rs 15.99 lakh for the diesel (ex-showroom). The 7-seater takes on the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and the 7-seater version of the Mahindra XUV700. It is also an SUV alternative to the Kia Carens and Toyota Innova Crysta.
