A panoramic sunroof is no longer a luxury limited to premium car models. Indian buyers increasingly expect this feature even in practical family cars, especially in the 7-seater space. With that in mind, automakers are now offering panoramic sunroofs in a variety of MPVs and SUVs. The convenience feature not only elevates the cabin’s ambiance but also enhances the car’s appeal, making it feel more upmarket.
Here are five 7-seater cars in India that bring together practicality and panoramic sunroof, catering to various price points.
Price: Rs 11.50 lakh to Rs 21.50 lakh (ex-showroom)
Kia introduced the Carens Clavis to its MPV portfolio. With the Clavis, you now get the option of a panoramic sunroof in its higher-spec variants. While the lower trims come with a single-pane sunroof, opting for the HTX+ variant and above gets you the panoramic unit.

Prices for the Carens Clavis start from Rs 11.50 lakh (ex-showroom), while the top-spec turbo-petrol HTX+ with the panoramic sunroof is priced at Rs 21.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Notably, the petrol-powered variants are offered in both 6-seater and 7-seater configurations, whereas the diesel-powered trims are limited to a 7-seater setup.
Price: Rs 14.50 lakh to Rs 25.14 lakh (ex-showroom)
The Mahindra XUV700 is available with panoramic sunroof from its AX5 trim onwards. Notably lower-specced variants of the XUV700 does not include a single-pane sunroof choice. Other key highlights include a 10.25-inch dual-screen setup for the infotainment and instrument cluster, connected car technology, ADAS, and dual-zone automatic climate control.

Engine choices comprises the 200 PS 2-litre turbo-petrol and a up to 185 PS 2.2-litre diesel, both offered with manual and automatic transmission choices. You also get an all-wheel-drive option with the XUV700.
Price: Rs 15 lakh to Rs 21.74 lakh (ex-showroom)
The updated Hyundai Alcazar not only brings a more upmarket design and added features but also offers a panoramic sunroof option. A highlight is that the 2024 Alcazar provides the panoramic sunroof right from the one-above-base Prestige variant. Additionally, it comes with the convenience of voice commands to operate the sunroof system. Powertrain options with the Alcazar include the 160 PS 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, and the 116 PS 1.5-litre diesel engine choice.

Price: Rs 15.50 lakh to Rs 27.44 lakh (ex-showroom)
Coming onto the SUV option from Tata Motors, you get a panoramic sunroof with the Safari across multiple variants. Higher-specced variants of the Safari also get features like ventilated seats, a 12.3-inch touchscreen, digital driver’s display, and ADAS safety technology. Powering the Safari is a 2-litre diesel engine that puts out 170 PS and 350 Nm, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Price: Rs 17.50 lakh to Rs 23.94 lakh (ex-showroom)
The MG Hector Plus offers a panoramic sunroof from its Select Pro variant onwards. Additionally, it features voice commands to control the sunroof, including percentage-based opening through the infotainment system. Other highlights include a 14-inch portrait-style infotainment display, connected car technology, ambient lighting, a powered tailgate, and ventilated front seats. Engine options include a 143PS/250Nm 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and a 170PS/350Nm 2-litre diesel engine.
