February was a slow month for car buyers, with premium brands rolling out a couple of SUVs, one of which is performance-oriented while the other is focused on luxury. Meanwhile, the mass-market segment was moving sloppy as some OEMs introduced model-year updates along with some special editions. Without further ado, here are all the cars launched in February on our shores.
Kia announced the prices of its second subcompact SUV, the Syros, which starts at Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom). It slots between the Sonet and the Seltos while sharing its 1-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine options with the former. Design-wise, it takes inspiration from the brand's flagship EV9, featuring vertically stacked LED headlights and a boxy shape. Inside, it offers a practical cabin with features such as a 12.3-inch infotainment system, powered front-row seats, a panoramic sunroof, and an 8-speaker Harman Kardon sound system.
BYD expanded its India portfolio with the launch of the Sealion 7 at Rs 48.90 lakh (ex-showroom). It shares similarities with the Seal sedan in terms of styling but features a distinct cabin layout with a well-equipped feature set. The Sealion 7 is available in two broad variants: the Premium, which gets a 313 PS single electric motor setup, and the Performance, which comes equipped with a 530 PS dual electric motor setup. Both variants are coupled to an 82.5 kWh battery pack, delivering a claimed range of up to 567 km.
Audi launched its most powerful SUV yet, the RS Q8 Performance, at Rs 2.49 crore (ex-showroom). Under the hood, it retains the 4-litre twin-turbo petrol engine but delivers 640 PS and 850 Nm, enabling a nought to 100 kmph sprint in just 3.6 seconds. While it largely mirrors the RS Q8 in design, it sports a more aggressive look with a blacked-out grille, all-black alloy wheels, and a dual-tip exhaust system.
Inside, the all-black theme dominates, complemented by an Alcantara-wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel, carbon-fibre inlays, and red accents, staying true to its sporty character.
Rolls-Royce introduced the Ghost Series II in India which is an evolutionary update to its predecessor. The design features subtle tweaks, including reworked LED headlamps, while overall showcasing an edgier appearance. In our market, Rolls-Royce will offer the Ghost Series II in three versions: the standard variant, the Black Badge, and the Extended version, which comes with an elongated wheelbase. Powering the Ghost Series II is a 6.75-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine producing 600 PS and 900 Nm. Prices start at Rs 8.95 crore (ex-showroom).
Moving on to the model-year updates, Kia launched the 2025 Seltos with prices ranging from Rs 11.3 lakh to Rs 20.50 lakh (ex-showroom). The update introduces three new variants HTE (O), HTK (O), and HTK+ (O), that offer a few premium features at an affordable price point. All three variants are available with either the 115 PS 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine or the 116 PS 1.5-litre diesel engine but miss out on the 160 PS 1.5-litre turbo-petrol, which is reserved for higher-spec trims.
Renault launched the updated Kiger with prices ranging from Rs 6.10 lakh to Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom). While there are no changes to its styling or powertrain, entry-level variants now offer more features, while the top-spec variant gets new additions like a smart access card and a remote engine start function. The 2025 Kiger is now compatible with E20 fuel.
Along with the Kiger, Renault has also updated the Triber by adding more equipment to its entry-level variants. These features include an 8-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay/ Android Auto and steering-mounted audio controls. Prices for the 2025 Triber start at Rs 6.10 lakh and go up to Rs 8.75 lakh (ex-showroom). It is powered by a 1-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, producing 72 PS and 96 Nm of torque. It is available with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT.
MG gave the Astor model-year updates by adding features like a panoramic sunroof, a six-speaker sound system, six airbags, and leatherette seats to the entry-level Shine and Select variants. With this update, MG also discontinued the 140 PS 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine, making the Astor solely powered by the 110 PS 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a CVT-type automatic gearbox. Prices for the 2025 Astor range from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 17.56 lakh (ex-showroom).
We also witnessed the launch of the Mahindra Scorpio N Carbon Edition, the Stealth Editions of the Tata Harrier and Safari, the Honda City Apex Edition, and the MG Comet EV Blackstorm in February. All these models feature cosmetic updates inside out, offering a distinct appearance compared to their standard versions. You can learn more about each model in the news section of our website.
After a slow February, we expect March to be exciting. We already know that some of the hottest EV launches are scheduled for March, and the list includes the likes of the MG Cyberster and Maruti e Vitara. Apart from these two models, there are going to be some other highly-anticipated launches as well. More on these cars will be covered in our upcoming article this weekend, so stay tuned for that!
