Renault Makes Kiger’s RXT (O) MT More Accessible highlights

Renault cuts prices of Kiger’s RXT(O) MT trim by Rs 25,000.
Prices now start from Rs 7.99 lakh for the RXT(O) MT trim.
RXT(O) trim gets both 1-litre NA and 1-litre turbo-petrol engines.
No changes in features or safety equipment on offer.
Kiger is available in five broad trims: RXE, RXL, RXT, RXT (O) and RXZ.

Renault has reduced the prices of the one below-topXT(O) manual variant of the Kiger sub-4m SUV by Rs 25,000. Before this price cut, this specific variant was retailed from Rs 8.24 lakh, but is now priced at Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

Engine options in the RXT(O) trim include both the 1-litre NA petrol and 1-litre turbo-petrol engine options, which can be paired with a 5-speed manual, a 5-speed AMT (NA-petrol) or a CVT (turbo-petrol). But considering that Renault only announced price drop for the manual variants, don’t expect any price changes to the automatic options.

Being just one below the top-spec RXZ trim, the RXT(O) gets an avalanche of features including an eight-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, electrically adjustable ORVMS, air filter, height adjustable driver’s seat and rear AC vents. Features like wireless phone charger, auto AC, fully electric ORVMs, cooled glove box (lower), ambient lighting, and a 7-inch digital driver’s display are offered in the top-spec trims.

The Kiger comes with a host of standard safety features which include electronic stability control, hill start assist, TPMS, front airbags and ABS with EBD. The RXT(O) trim further gets 4 airbags and speed sensing door locks to its list.

The Renault Kiger is available in a total of five broads variants: RXE, RXL, RXT, RXT (O) and RXZ. Prices start from Rs 6.5 lakh and go up to Rs 11.23 lakh (ex-showroom). It rivals the likes of the Nissan Magnite, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, and the Mahindra XUV300.
