Vida offers the VX2 in two guises: affordable ‘Go’ and premium ‘Plus’
-
Prices begin from as low as Rs 59,490 (ex-showroom, Delhi)
Hero has launched its new range of electric scooters, the VX2, in India. It’s available in two variants: VX2 Go and VX2 Plus. The scooter comes with a decent amount of features and has a commendable claimed range, but that’s not even the best part! The price of the scooter makes it even more attractive than some of its closest rivals.

Price Check
Hero earlier announced that the Vida VX2 range will be available in a Battery-as-a-Service module. This means that you don’t pay for the battery when you purchase the scooter, but instead, pay as you use it. What this does is it not only decreases the initial price of the scooter but also makes it way more affordable than its rivals, such as the Bajaj Chetak.

BaaS stands for Battery As A Service. It is essentially a monthly subscription model, which further reduces the upfront ownership cost of the scooter.

Battery, Range, Performance And Underpinnings
What makes the Vida VX2 stand out from its rivals is the type of batteries it comes with. Customers have the ability to remove the batteries and charge them in their homes or charge them as is from the scooter. The electric scooter is available in two battery pack variants, which also differ in the claimed range they deliver.

Given the starting price of the e-scooter on offer, the claimed range is actually quite decent. Apart from the convenience of removable batteries, Vida owners can also make use of the 3,600 charging stations spread across the country.

An aam aadmi’s electric scooter
The Hero Vida VX2 is a promising electric scooter and is available in seven colours: Nexus Blue, Metallic Grey, Matte White, Autumn Orange, Matte Lime, Pearl Black and Pearl Red. It gets a decent number of features and offers a but the icing on the cake is the price tag. Starting from Rs 59,490 with the Baas subscription, this makes it one of the very few affordable electric scooters from a well-established, experienced manufacturer.
Apart from folks with tight budgets, the VX2 with the BaaS pricing should also be ideal for gig-workers. Sure, Ola technically announced the price of the Ola Gig, but its deliveries have been delayed as the manufacturer wants to focus on the Ola Roadster range. Even the Ola S1 Z, which comes with practically the same price tag as the VX2 (the S1 Z costs from Rs 59,999 ex-showroom), hasn’t hit the roads yet. The manufacturer mentioned earlier that its deliveries will start in May 2025 but there has been no updates yet.
The VX2 also stands as a reliable, relatively more trustworthy option in a sea of Chinese electric scooters, often known to have questionable reliability and inconsistent after-sales service.
