Avore Electric has launched its first electric bikes, the EX1 and EX2. The introductory pricing of the EX1 is Rs 1.25 lakh (ex-showroom) for the first 10,000 customers. Here’s all you need to know about them.

Design

EX1 & EX2 Launched

The bikes have a sporty, modern design with a muscular tank. The EX1 gets a single seat, while the EX2 and the EX2S get split seats. All bikes get an LED projector headlamp with an LED DRL, along with a sleek tail section. Overall, the bikes look sporty and futuristic, which might appeal to a lot of buyers.

Battery & Range

EX1 & EX2 Launched

The EX1 gets a 3.24 kWh battery pack with a claimed IDC (Indian Driving Conditions) range of 160km, while the EX2 and the EX2S get a 5 kWh battery pack. The EX2 gets a claimed range of 255 km, and the EX2S slightly bumps it to 260 km.

The battery on the EX1 can be charged from 0-80% in 3 hours with a 750W inbuilt charger, while it takes 2 hours on the EX2 and the EX2S with a bigger 1500W fast charger.

Motor & Performance

EX1 & EX2 Launched

Both the EX1 and the EX2 are powered by a 7.5 kW motor, while the EX2S is powered by a bigger 10.5 kW motor. The EX2S gets a first-in-class simulated 4-speed gear mode, where you can change the gears manually if you want a more engaging riding experience.

Avore claims the EX1 and the EX2 can accelerate from 0-40 kmph in 3.2 seconds, with both variants having a top speed of 100 kmph. The EX2S, however, can accelerate from 0-40 kmph in 2.8 seconds, with a top speed of 114 kmph.

The EX1 and the EX2 get 4 riding modes: Reverse, Eco, City and Sport, while the EX2S gets 6 riding modes: PAM+, Eco, City, Sports, Hyper and Gear Mode.

Features

EX1 & EX2

All bikes get all-LED lighting. The EX1 and the EX2 get a 7-inch segmented digital console, while the EX2S gets a 7-inch touchscreen TFT console. The bikes get Bluetooth connectivity for turn-by-turn navigation and call and SMS alerts. They also get geofencing, crash alerts, ride statistics and predictive health tracking via the Avore app. The EX2S also gets an AI stack integration that enables Full Maps integration on the TFT screen. Other features include cruise control, hill hold assist and adaptive headlights with guiding light function.  All bikes get a 5 year/60000 Km warranty for increased peace of mind. 

Underpinnings

EX1 & EX2 Launched

The bikes get a telescopic fork and a monoshock, along with 17-inch wheels and disc brakes on both wheels. The bikes also get a Combi Brake System (CBS) for balanced stopping performance.

Zig Says

The Avore EX1 and EX2 claim good IDC range and a long list of features. However, the biggest highlight is the first-in-class simulated 4-speed gear mode in the EX2S. The bikes are launched at very competitive prices, making them a good choice for first-time EV buyers.
