India’s most expensive scooter by miles, the BMW CE 04, was recently launched with a price tag of Rs 14,90,000 (ex-showroom). Is the premium price tag backed by an extensive list of high-end features? Let’s take a look:

The BMW CE 04 comes equipped with a 10.25-inch TFT instrument console and gets Bluetooth connectivity for call and SMS alerts, music controls and integrated map navigation. These functions can be controlled via the controller on the left hand side switchgear. It gets all-LED lighting with BMW Motorrad’s Headlight Pro available as an accessory, which adjusts the throw of the headlight depending on the lean angle of the scooter and other such factors when on the move. It also comes with a USB-C charging port and a keyless functionality for locking, unlocking and starting the scooter.

The electric scooter gets a storage compartment under the seat that opens from the side and another one on the front apron. It gets three ride modes: Eco, Rain and Road along with a reverse mode and dual-channel ABS is available as standard. ABS Pro, which is basically BMW’s version of lean-sensitive ABS, is available as optional. As standard, the CE 04 comes equipped with traction control and Automatic Stability Control, which reduces wheel spin by modulating the torque output depending on the road conditions.

The optional Dynamics package consists of features like the ABS Pro, Dynamic Traction Control, Headlight Pro and an additional Dynamic riding mode. The Comfort package consists of a heated seat with a backrest and heated grips. Other optional features available for the scooter include a quick charger, centre stand, anti-theft alarm system, tyre pressure control system (TPMS) and a bigger windscreen. BMW Motorrad has made various accessories available for the scooter like a quick-charging cable, sticker sets, side bag holder, topcase and more.
As a super premium scooter, it does come loaded with tons of features that are usually found in big-capacity motorcycles. Does the price tag justify what the scooter offers in terms of performance, range and features? Well, if you have lots of cash lying around and won’t lose sleep over spending Rs 14.90 lakh for an electric scooter, then the luxury quotient and uniqueness of the scooter might appeal to you.
