Ather Energy’s most premium offering, the Ather 450 Apex, was launched a couple of months ago and now the EV maker has commenced deliveries of the electric scooter. Goa, Pune and Bengaluru are the first cities to get the Apex, while deliveries in other cities will start soon.
The Ather 450 Apex is a more performance-oriented version of the Ather 450X and as such, gets a peak power output of 7kW compared to the 6kW output in the 450X from the same motor. Top speed is 100kmph, which is 10kmph more than that of the 450X, and it also gets a quicker 0-40kmph acceleration time of 2.9 seconds (the Ather 450X achieves that in 3.3 seconds). Being the most premium scooter in Ather’s lineup, the 450 Apex is priced at Rs 1,88,999 (ex-showroom Bengaluru, with no FAME 2 subsidy).

Ather Energy has teased a new accessory called ‘Halo’, and we think it will be a helmet with a boxy design, to reflect the design language of the upcoming Ather Rizta. It could be the smart accessory that the EV maker teased last time around, which we predicted to be a smart helmet with Bluetooth connectivity, speakers and a mic to receive calls/ use voice assistance. Interested customers will also have a chance to win the accessory on Ather Community Day 2024 on April 6.
Also, in another teaser, the EV maker’s CEO Tarun Mehta talked about some of the factors that were taken into consideration while developing the electric scooter. He said that being a family scooter, the Rizta needed to have a wide and comfortable seat and the throttle response needed to be relatively gentler compared to the sharp throttle response of the sportier 450X.
