The Tata Altroz has always been a well-packaged hatchback in its segment, but in recent times, it started to feel slightly outdated and needed something fresh. Now the Indian carmaker has given the premium hatchback a facelift, with prices starting from Rs 6.89 lakh (ex-showroom).
With the facelift, the Altroz has gotten more premium inside and sharper looking from the outside. So without further ado, let’s take a look at all of its details:
The outgoing model of the Altroz was priced from Rs 6.65 lakh to Rs 11.30 lakh, while the newer version retails between Rs 6.89 lakh and 11.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The Altroz has clearly become more stylish and sleeker with the new design elements that really stand out and set the hatchback apart from its predecessor. For starters, you get a refreshed grille, which looks premium and is complemented by gloss black inserts. The bumper looks neater now, and you now get sleeker-looking, newly designed LED headlights
The body style and dimensions of the hatchback are the same as before, but the profile looks different with the newly designed 16-inch alloy wheels. Flush door handles are a welcome addition, making the hatchback look more upmarket.
The rear end now gets connected LED tail lights that are neatly integrated and cater to those who like the trendy design element. Gloss black inserts at the rear suit the overall styling, and you get refreshed bumpers that are aggressively styled.
The 2025 Altroz is available in 5 colour shades: Ember Glow, Pristine White, Pure Grey, Dune Glow and Royal Blue.
The interior seems like a step forward rather than a step up. There aren’t too many new features, but the ones added surely add to the feel-good factor of the cabin. The most significant upgrade is with the displays, as it now features dual 10.25-inch units consisting of the touchscreen infotainment system and the digital driver’s display. Moreover, it gets a new colour scheme for the upholstery and a nice ambient lighting strip running across your dashboard.
The facelifted model boasts a new illuminated steering wheel, something that we have already seen on cars like the Nexon and Curvv.
The features that add to the convenience include a wireless phone charger, a 360-degree camera, automatic climate control, an auto-dimming IRVM, cruise control, connected car features, and an air purifier.
Safety features include 6 airbags as standard, ESC, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and rear parking sensors. The old Altroz was rated 5-stars in the Global NCAP safety crash test, and the latest model is likely to be more safer! So in the safety aspect, you don't need to worry.
The Altroz facelift comes equipped with the same engines that include petrol, diesel and CNG options. The petrol engine is a 1.2-litre NA petrol unit which makes 88 PS and 115 Nm. The diesel engine is the familiar 1.5-litre unit which produces 90 PS and 200 Nm. Those who want a lower running cost can pick the petrol plus CNG option, which makes a reduced output of 74 PS and 103 Nm in the CNG mode. Gearbox options include a standard 5-speed manual, and the option of a 5-speed AMT and a 6-speed DCT for the petrol.
The facelifted Altroz will give tougher competition to the Hyundai i20, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, and Toyota Glanza.
The Altroz facelift brings a more premium flavour and clearly offers more than what its predecessor did. It is also one of the best hatchbacks in the segment, if not the best. The good news is that Tata has made the automatic more affordable with the introduction of the AMT, and the overall price range has not increased by much. Overall, the Altroz hatchback appears to be a good option if you are looking for a compelling option that is also very safe.
