EXCLUSIVE: Tata Tigor To Be Replaced By Tata Aeris

Tata Cars, with its new name, wants to refresh its entire product lineup this year, and the next product to go on sale will be the upcoming sedan, which will replace the Tigor!

The new sedan’s design had previously surfaced on the internet, and now we have our hands on an exclusive scoop that this upcoming sedan will be known as the Tata Aeris name. Here are all the details we know about it: 

2026 Tata Aeris To Replace Tata Tigor

According to our sources, Tata Cars will be replacing the Tigor with the Aeris soon. Based on the Tiago, the sub-4 metre sedan has been called the Tigor ever since its introduction in 2017. However, its heavily refreshed version will now be called the Tata Aeris.

About The 2026 Tata Aeris

Tata’s new sub-4 metre sedan will feature an updated design. Up front, it will get a new bumper with a sleeker lower air dam and fog lamps. The patent drawings also showcase a slim grille, which could feature a gloss black finish like on the Tiago. The headlamps are also likely to feature LED lighting and a sleeker look compared to the rounded design of the Tigor.

Not much will change in profile; the ‘notchback’-like roofline will be maintained, but a new alloy wheel design will spice things up.

The rear end will get a connected LED taillamp setup and a reworked tailgate too. Finally, a new bumper will round off things with a sculpted look and vertical reflectors.

A major boost to the feature list could also come in the form of a wireless charger and ventilated front seats, besides a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a semi-digital driver’s display, cruise control, automatic climate control, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and keyless entry with push-button start/stop. 

With this new sedan, 6 airbags are also expected to be made standard.

2026 Tata Aeris: Powertrain Options

Under the hood, the Aeris will likely offer the same powertrains as the Tigor it replaces, including a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with an optional factory-fitted dual-cylinder CNG kit on offer. Manual and AMT gearbox options are expected as well. Here are the specifications in detail:

On similar lines as the Tigor, we also expect the sedan to spawn an ‘Aeris.ev’ version sometime in the future, with a fully-electric powertrain. 

2026 Tata Aeris: Launch Date, Expected Price & Rivals

The Tata Aeris is slated for a launch soon. It is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 6 lakh to Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom). It will rival the Maruti Dzire, Hyundai Aura and Honda Amaze in the sub-4 metre sedan segment.
