If you’ve grown up wishing your daily commute felt a bit more… Gotham, Mahindra’s got something that’ll put a grin under your cowl.
This is the BE 6 Batman Edition, India’s very own nod to the Dark Knight, priced at Rs 27.79 lakh (ex-showroom). Only 300 of these will be up for grabs, so if you’ve ever wanted a Batmobile parked in your building’s basement, you’d better be quick.

Born out of a tie-up between Mahindra and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products, this special BE 6 channels Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Trilogy, and does it with the kind of attention to detail that’ll make even Bruce Wayne pause mid-board meeting.
Bookings open on August 23, and deliveries start fittingly on International Batman Day, i.e. September 20.
We’ve spent some time poking around this cool-looking caped crusader, and here are five things that make it properly cool:
The regular BE 6 already looked like it had crash-landed from another planet. But in the Batman Edition, it’s gone full stealth mode with Satin Black paint that soaks up the light, while the 20-inch alloys and Alchemy Gold brake callipers (with matching coil springs) give it just the right amount of flash.

The Bat logo shows up everywhere: hub caps, front quarter panels, rear bumper, windows, and even on the infinity glass roof. There’s also a “BE 6 × The Dark Knight” badge at the back and a ‘Batman Edition’ signature on the rear door cladding.
Step inside, and Black and Alchemy Gold dominate the space, with leather upholstery stitched in Gold Sepia that instantly grabs attention.

The fixed glass roof isn’t just a glass roof here; it gets a Batman-themed illumination. Fire up the car, and you’re greeted with a Batman Edition welcome animation, while also getting custom Batman-inspired sounds. This absolutely guarantees goosebumps every time you turn it on!
The Batman Edition doesn’t fiddle with the BE 6’s already long list of features. You continue to get all the usual bells and whistles, including the dual 12.3-inch screens for infotainment and driver display, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated front seats with 6-way power adjustment for the driver, dual wireless charging pads, and a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system.

Safety is taken care of with the inclusion of features such as seven airbags, a 360-degree camera, auto park assist, hill hold, and Level-2 ADAS to keep you and your Robin completely safe!
Underneath all that Batman bits, it’s still the same BE 6 powertrain, with a 79 kWh battery pack, which is paired up with a single motor, which drives the rear wheels and continues to churn out 286 PS and 380 Nm, It offers a claimed range of up to 683 km, which translates to roughly 500 km of real-world range, which perfectly suits a Batmobile!

This isn’t some sticker-pack special. With only 300 units for all of India, the Batman Edition is going to be rare. Mahindra’s also pulled off a bit of a first, tying an Indian EV to a pop culture icon that’s recognisable on a global level.

For the right kind of buyer, this is part conversation starter and a full-time collectable. It would probably be rarer than a Lamborghini these days!
The BE 6 has always been the sort of EV that turns heads in traffic. With the Batman Edition, it’s gone from “What’s that?” to “I need to know more.” And with exclusivity baked in, the appeal isn’t just for DC superfans, it’s for anyone who wants something genuinely different.

For most DC fans, this is as close as you’re gonna get to owning a Batmobile… without having to spend the time answering to our dearest RTOs.
