Mahindra has launched the BE 6 Formula E Edition at its “Scream Electric” event in Bengaluru, priced at Rs 23.69 lakh (ex-showroom). The special edition is a tribute to the brand's Formula E racing career and brings some of that motorsport vibe to a road-going electric SUV. While the essential package is well-known, this variant appeals to those customers looking for something more unique, an EV that looks sharper, feels more special, and possesses a more pronounced racing-inspired character.
The prices range from Rs 23.69 lakh to Rs 24.49 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning the BE 6 Formula E Edition as pricier alternative to the corresponding BE 6 variants. This premium justifies the limited-run positioning and the exclusive design treatment that sets it apart visually.

Its most distinguishing feature is its unique styling. Offered in Mahindra's colour themes inspired by Formula E, it will feature Black with Red accents, Red with Black accents, and White with Black accents. These shades mirror the brand's colours found on its Formula E team and make the SUV stand out on the road.

The Formula E Edition up front offers a different look, with a revised grille design featuring eyebrow-style LED daytime running lights and circular lamp elements to give it a more chiselled, motorsport-focused face. Further helping to develop its track-inspired character but still based on the familiar silhouette of the BE 6, is the special livery package including 20-inch alloy wheels, FIA-Formula E plaque and Formula E themed tidbits across the car along with race-inspired graphics.

Inside, the layout remains immediately recognisable but incorporates a new Formula E-themed dual-tone orange-black theme to convey exclusivity. Subtle design elements like Formula E Edition plaque, and orange inserts on the centre console and doorpads reinforce its racing connection.

The core cabin experience remains unchanged: race-ready digital cockpit, dual super screens, and premium materials keep the BE 6 modern and comfortable. The approach is sporty but never over-the-top, fitting for day-to-day duty just as well as extended road drives.

Talking of equipment levels, the BE 6 Formula E Edition remains nearly identical to the standard BE 6 and includes features such as a panoramic moonroof with illuminated lighting strips, dual 12.3-inch screens for the touchscreen infotainment and digital instrument cluster, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system with Dolby Atmos, wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, dual-zone climate control and auto headlamps.

It also includes safety features such as blind-spot monitoring, 6 airbags, electronic stability control, 360-degree camera, all-disc brakes, electronic parking brake with auto-hold and hill start assist. Notably, the BE 6 has also scored a 5-star rating at Bharat NCAP.

Performance-wise, the BE 6 Formula E Edition stays identical to the standard Pack 3 variant of the BE 6 and gets a 79kWh battery pack giving it a claimed range of more than 600 Km. It gets powered by a rear-wheel drive single-motor setup developing 286 PS of power and 380 Nm torque.

Just like the standard BE 6, the Formula E Edition will be based on Mahindra's INGLO electric architecture. The platform is capable of 180kW DC fast-charging giving the battery a 20 to 80 per cent charge time of approximately 20 minutes under ideal conditions, which is suitable for everyday convenience.

The regular BE 6 targets buyers who prefer a clean, understated design, while the Formula E Edition is for those who want something bolder and more expressive. Besides styling and identity, such as exterior colour, unique graphics, and interior accents, nothing much differentiates the two. There are no differences in terms of powertrain, technology, and safety.

In the Indian market, the BE 6 Formula E Edition faces competition from premium electric SUVs such as the Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, and Tata Harrier EV. But what sets it apart is its direct association with Mahindra’s active Formula E racing program.

Mahindra has announced that bookings for the BE 6 Formula E Edition open on 14th January 2026, although customers can configure and spec their BE 6 from 14th December onwards. Deliveries for the first lot of BE 6 Formula E Editions begin on 14th February 2026.
The standard BE 6 already combines range, performance, and premium appeal quite well. The Formula E Edition builds on this base with a much sharper personality and a strong identity inspired by motorsport. It aims at buyers who want to make their electric SUV feel even a bit more special and closely related to the track.
