Wuling has deployed 300 units of the Air EV in Bali for the G20 Summit in November.
Air EV to arrive in India at Auto Expo 2023 with an MG badge.
The compact two-door EV is offered in multiple variants overseas with up to 300km range.
It’s expected to be priced from Rs 10 lakh onwards (ex-showroom).
China-based carmaker Wuling is the official partner of this year’s G20 Summit that’ll be held in Bali, Indonesia. To ferry around important delegates from the participating countries, the carmaker has deployed a fleet of 300 Air compact electric vehicles (EVs) in the city.
The Air EV is expected to arrive in India later as MG’s first mass-market EV. It’ll be a more affordable alternative to the MG ZS EV.
“We are very proud to be able to support the G20 Summit in Bali as an Official Car Partner. This support is realized by providing as many as 300 units of Wuling Air ev which wil be the proponent of environmentally friendly mobility for the delegates and international organizations.” – Shi Guoyong, President Director of Wuling Motors.
Some of the Wuling Air EVs will be assigned to different delegates from member countries such as the USA, Australia, India, Brazil, Italy, Japan and the UK. Diplomats invited from the UAE, Cambodia, Singapore and other non-participating countries will also travel via Air EVs in Bali.

The compact electric car will also cater to the needs of international organisations attending the event, such as International Labour Organization (ILO), International Monetary Fund (IMF), WHO, OECD and WTO.

84 of the 300 Air EVs are standard-range variants, while 216 units, the majority of the fleet, are long-range variants.
The G20 Summit is set to take place between November 15-16, 2022.

We expect the Air EV to arrive in India sometime in 2023, possibly debuting at Auto Expo 2023. Overseas, it’s offered in two and four-seater variants with two battery sizes. The smaller 17.3kWh battery pack is good for up to 200km of range, while the larger 26.7kWh unit is claimed to get 300km on a single charge. It’s powered by a 40PS rear-drive e-motor.

Inside, the EV gets features such as dual 10.25-inch screens for the driver’s instrumentation, synthetic leather seats, floating centre console, dual front airbags and rear parking camera.
The plucky Air EV is an environmentally friendly choice for the G20 Summit this year. We look forward to the refreshingly minimalist EV in India as well, where it’ll go head-to-head with the Tata Tiago EV and upcoming Citroen C3-based EV.
