MG Comet EV Blackstorm edition launched at Rs 7.8 lakh + BaaS fee.
It gets a new Starry Black theme with a lot of red inserts.
Inside it gets black upholstery with red stitches and Blackstorm embossing with some touch of beige hue.
No mechanical changes with the same battery and 230 km range.
It will sit as the top-most variant over the Exclusive trim.
A day after teasing, we finally have the MG Comet EV Blackstorm edition launched. It is the fourth car in MG's lineup to get a special edition, following the Gloster, Hector, and Astor, and it sits as the top-most variant in the Comet’s lineup. It sports an all-black theme inside and out, with many red accents that make the tiny car look sporty as well. Inside, it carries pretty much the same features as the fully loaded Comet EV and the same battery pack option. Let’s take a look at what you get with this special edition.
The overall silhouette of the car remains the same, except for the all-blacked-out Starry Black theme. What looks interesting is the plenty of red accents all over. On the front, you have the Morris Garages lettering done in a red finish, along with red surrounds around the fog lamp and the skid plate.

There is also some silver finish near the headlights and along the connected LED light strip. On the side, it has body cladding with red inserts again. The blacked-out alloy wheels also have red outlines. The rear of the car is not quite visible, but it should sport the same theme.
Interestingly, the interior is not fully blacked out, keeping some beige hues flowing across the door panels, dashboard, and centre bridge console. It gets leatherette black upholstery with red stitching for contrast and the Blackstorm edition red embossing on the headrests of the front seats.

As for features, it carries the same 10.25-inch dual-screen setup, including the touchscreen infotainment system and a driver display, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a multifunctional steering wheel, USB ports, LED headlights, connected car tech, electronically adjustable ORVMs, and manual AC.
The Blackstorm edition brings one feature update, which is the four-speaker sound system now available exclusively with it.
The safety suite remains unchanged, including the same dual airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability program (ESP), rear parking sensors, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), rear-wheel disc brakes, a rearview camera, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, hill hold assist, and a digital key with a sharing function.
The powertrain of the MG Comet Blackstorm edition sees no changes either. It has the same 17.3 kWh battery which has a 230 km claimed range. It powers the motor generating 42 PS and 110 Nm output.
The MG Comet EV Blackstorm is priced at Rs 7.8 lakh (ex-showroom), excluding the battery rental fee of Rs 2.5 per kilometre. The standard prices of the MG Comet range from Rs 4.99 lakh to Rs 7.66 lakh (ex-showroom). It includes the battery rental fee of Rs 2.5 per kilometre. If you go buying it as a whole, the prices sit between Rs 6.99 lakh and Rs 9.81 lakh (ex-showroom). While the only direct rival in the micro-car segment is the Vayve Eva, it alternatively continues to rival the likes of Citroen eC3 and Tata Tiago EV.

With one new additional feature and a dark theme overall, the Comet sure would stand out from the sea of normal cars.
What are your thoughts on the tiny sinister all-black MG Comet EV? Would you be picking one? Let us know in the comments.
