MG has launched the updated Comet EV for the year 2025 with prices starting from Rs 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The updated micro EV comes with more convenience and safety features across the variant lineup thereby adding to the appeal of the entry-level electric offering. These updates come at a minor premium for some variants over the MY2024 version. Let’s take a closer look at the updates in detail:
The MG Comet EV ‘s prices range from Rs 7 lakh for the base-spec Executive variant to Rs 9.81 lakh for the top-spec Blackstorm Edition (ex-showroom), if you intend to purchase the car as a whole. A closer look at the pricing:

As seen in the tabble above, there is a price increase of up to Rs 10,000. If you opt for the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) scheme, the prices range from Rs 4.99 lakh to Rs 7.80 lakh plus an additional cost of Rs 2.5 per km as the battery rental fee. Here is the price table with the BaaS prices:

The Comet EV is available in five variants: Executive, Excite, Excite Fast Charge (FC), Exclusive, and Exclusive Fast Charge (FC). The updated model introduces a reverse parking camera and auto-fold Outside Rear View Mirrors (ORVMs) in the mid-spec Excite and Excite FC variants. Both these features were earlier available with higher-spec variants.
The top-spec Exclusive and Exclusive FC variants have been upgraded with leatherette seats and an enhanced 4-speaker audio system which takes the in-cabin experience to a more premium level. Earlier there were only 2 speakers offered with the top-spec variant.
MG has also announced that the Comet EV gets an 8-year/ 1.2 lakh km warranty, whichever comes first.
Other features on the Comet EV include a 10.25-inch screen infotainment with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, connected car features, keyless entry, and steering mounted audio controls.
Safety is taken care of by ABS with EBD, ESC, dual front airbags, hill hold assist, 3-point seatbelts for front and rear seats, electronic parking brake, a tyre pressure monitoring system and rear parking sensors.
The Comet EV features a 17.3 kWh battery pack paired with a single motor which sends power to the rear wheels. It produces up to 42 PS and 110 Nm, ideal for your short city roundabouts. It offers an ARAI-claimed range of 230 km.
The Comet EV is a slightly affordable alternative to the likes of Tata Tiago EV and Citroen eC3.
