JSW MG Motor India has launched three special edition models under the Blackstorm range, such as the Gloster Blackstorm, Astor Blackstorm, and Hector Blackstorm and now it is expected to expand the Blackstorm lineup with the new Comet EV Blackstorm. The little electric vehicle could soon gain a new special edition soon, following the previous Gamer Edition and 100-Year Limited Edition. Since its market introduction, the Comet EV has attracted a lot of attention and has had a good run so far. But what would the new Blackstorm Edition look like on the Comet EV? Here is what we can expect.

MG Comet EV Blackstorm Edition: Design And Interior

Along the line with the Gloster Blackstorm, Astor Blackstorm, and Hector Blackstorm, the Comet EV Blackstorm is expected to get a new all-black paint scheme throughout the exterior. This colour could be paired with contrasting flashy red inserts on the bumper, side profile, and tailgate. Additionally, it may come with Blackstorm Edition badges. Apart from that, it is likely that the overall design of the Comet EV will remain unchanged.

On the inside, the Comet EV Blackstorm Edition might feature a black theme like the other Blackstorm Edition models. It is also expected to get black leatherette seat covers, perhaps with Blackstorm embroidery on the headrest. The cabin of the Comet EV could get red accents too.

MG Comet EV Blackstorm Edition: Features And Safety

The Comet EV Blackstorm Edition is likely to carry over the same features from the standard model, such as a 10.25-inch dual-screen setup comprising a driver display and touchscreen infotainment system, a multifunctional steering wheel, USB ports, LED headlights, connected car tech, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, two speakers, electronically adjustable ORVMs, and manual AC.

The safety features of the Comet EV could include dual airbags, rear parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), rear-wheel disc brakes, ABS with EBD, a rearview camera, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, electronic stability programme (ESP), hill hold assist, and digital key with sharing function.

MG Comet EV Blackstorm Edition: Powertrain

The Comet EV Blackstorm Edition will likely continue to be powered by the same powertrain, delivering a claimed range of 230 km. However, it would be more compelling if MG equipped it with a DC charging capability as the EV can be charged only with a compatible Type-2 AC charger.

MG Comet EV Blackstorm Edition: Pricing And Rivals

Currently, the Comet EV costs Rs 4.99 lakh to Rs 7.65 lakh (ex-showroom) under the battery-as-a-subscription initiative. On the other hand, the standard pricing ranges between Rs 6.99 lakh and Rs 9.64 lakh (ex-showroom). The Comet EV Blackstorm Edition is expected to attract a premium over the regular Comet EV. Upon launch, it will continue to take on the Citroen eC3 and Tata Tiago.
