Q. Suggest me between cbr250R and apache310. My use of bike is in the city and sometimes on highway and I want to know what are the average and maintenance cost of both?
  • CBR 250R and Apache RR 310 both are good bikes in racing but, RR 310 is pricier than CBR 250R. Ex Showroom price of RR 310 is around Rs 2,23,000 which is greater than the CBR 250R Top Model On Road Price. So, the conclusion is that you should go for CBR 250R. RR 310 is not a city bike or even it is not usable for daily commutes. CBR 250R is used in both daily commutes and racing. Honda's engine is much refined as compared to RR 310 and you can Honda bikes for 4 - 5 years without any tension. I hope you get the answer.
  • I'll suggest for cbr 250r ,as I too use it in city and highways and the average it gives me will make someone shock about it.It gives me around 40 kmpl on highways and around 33-34 in cities.. and for the maintenance thing it is reasonable price one will get on these 250cc segment!
  • The RR is more powerful and has the latest features. CBR has a solid engine which is unmatched in terms of quality and refinement. TVS always has had vibration and noise issues. CBR has no vibration issues even in speed excess of 125+kmph. RR310 is about half a lakh expensive than CBR as well. If you were consider all the factors, CBR would seem a more rationale choice

Q. I want to go for long rides. I shortlisted 3 bikes which are Honda CBR 250R, Apache RR 310 and SF 250. Which one is better in comfort and durability? Is there any new bikes coming in the Sports tourer segment?
  • I use the CBR250R ABS and find it very comfortable on long rides due to1. Spacious firm seat - i can reposition my b**t as per my whims and needs.2. Very smooth and reliable engine - its butter on long rides with oodles of power on tap3. Ride ergonomics are very good for long rides - no shourlder or wrist pain.NO BACK PAIN ALSO.
  • Apache RR310 has a aggressive riding position so comfort will be little bit less.CBR is somewhat comfortable as compared to RR 310. CBR's reliable and smooth engine can help you glide over the road for a whole day. I did 700kms approx in a single day on CBR.
  • I own CBR 250R and had only 2 long rides, but can assure you it doesn't induce any pain in wrist as well as in back... due to its seating position and comfort... no vibration too.. but its a old bike unlike any other sport bike

Q. Is it good for long commute? Second is it better than Apache rr 310? And lastly any problem in service - CBR250R?
  • I took test ride of RR 310 before I bought my 2018 CBR 250. The main plus point of RR310 is 1. Great design which reminds me the Italian bike the panigale. 2. Lots of feature in instrument console like lap timer etc. 3. A powerful engine from BMW which is more powerful that The CBR. 4. Good tire. But It inherits the one character of the maker-TVS: the vibration. The feel and feedback when you ride a CBR is much better. May be it does not have all the cutting edge feature. But the heart of the bike- that quarter litter butter smooth single cylinder engine is the best in class. There is no vibration at all. You can Ride it all day at a speed of 80-100. The seats are too good and soft. It is good enough to take care of your back. If you want to buy, take the test ride of both and then take your decision.
  • Yes it is a good bike to long commutes or city rides. I use it daily for one-way 35 km commute in Mumbai. ONE thing to remember is that this is no traffic-cutter - you cannot cut aggressively through traffic - this bike does not have that tight turning radius, and I have slipped a few times in such situation. APACHE 310RR is similar with a shade more power and weight. I have test ridden the 310 RR and found it to be similar to the CBR250. HONDA Service has no problems, the bike has no issues, service is not expensive and available at major Honda service centrers. AVOID outside service please.
  • Honda is extremely reliable and has less vibrations compared to its rivals.. i dont know much abt apache rr 310 but i have heard it vibrates and parts,service is very expensive..but apache rr310 is value for money

    Great Bike In This Segment 

    I have been using this bike for the last 8 years. Honestly, this bike is a legendary bike in the quarter-liter segment, it has a very reliable and smooth engine. The build quality is good but the spare parts are a little expensive and the mileage is quite good for a 250 cc bike. Now I am getting like 30 to 33 per kmpl also the brake are too good. The body balancing is dam good while doing the corners but I have to change the tyres, I have ridden the bike around 47000 km and I'm happy to be owned a bike like CBR250R.
