It is more than just a naked iteration of the RR 310

After months of anticipation and a whole lot of teases, TVS has finally launched the naked version of the TVS Apache RR 310, the Apache RTR 310. But how different is the new flagship naked bike from its supersport sibling? Here’s how:

Visual Differences

Now, of course, this is one major difference between the two bikes. While the RR 310 gets a fully faired supersport design, the RTR 310 gets a sharp streetfighter styling, similar to the Apache RTR 200. In more than a few ways, it also slightly resembles the Ducati Streetfighter V4 with the aggressive protruding LED headlight setup.

In addition to that, the subframe on the naked bike is a new aluminium bolt-on unit, whereas the  RR310 gets a single piece frame. Apart from that, the naked bike runs on flashy eight-spoke alloys.

Mechanical Differences

The Apache RTR 310 is more than just a naked version of the supersport. For example, while both get the same 312.2cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, the RTR 310 makes 35.6PS  (1.6PS more) and 28.7Nm (1.4Nm more).

Electronics & Feature Differences

The Apache RR 310 already came equipped with a bunch of fancy equipment, and the RTR 310 takes it to another level. It features a 5-inch horizontal TFT console, instead of the vertical unit on the supersport. Also, while both feature TVS SmartXonnect connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation, you can set up your helmet communication device as well as your GoPro to control the devices.

In addition to the Track, Sport, Urban, and Rain modes (that are available on the RR 310), the RTR 310 also gets a Supermoto mode that switches off the rear ABS for sliding.

Lastly, the RTR 310 gets six-axis IMU-aided electronic aids like cornering ABS, lean-sensing traction control, wheelie control and a bi-directional quickshifter.

Price

In terms of price, the TVS Apache RTR 310 starts at Rs 2,42,990, whereas the RR 310 is priced at Rs 2,72,000 onwards.

In conclusion, the TVS Apache RTR 310 is more feature-packed, more powerful and more premium than the RR 310, all the while being more affordable than the supersport. We will be riding the bike shortly so stay tuned to ZigWheels for the first ride review.
