CONFIRMED! Facelifted Kia Seltos To Get A Panoramic Sunroof In India

The facelifted Kia Seltos is expected to debut later this year and will be the first major update for the nameplate in India

One of Kia’s biggest launches for 2023 will be the introduction of the facelifted Seltos. The updated compact SUV is already on sale in international markets and is under its testing phase on our shores. And the spotting of a recent test mule has revealed that the Seltos’s sunroof is set to grow larger in size.

The facelifted Kia Seltos will be offered with the much loved panoramic sunroof in India. This should make the cabin a whole lot airier as the panoramic sunroof allows in more light. For reference, the current car gets a single-pane unit. Post the introduction of the facelifted Seltos, the Skoda Kushaq and VW Taigun are the ones that get a single-pane sunroof and not a panoramic unit.

Other updates that we expect in the facelifted Seltos should include the addition of ADAS features such as lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control and collision avoidance. It should also get a fully digital driver’s display (a la Alcazar) and probably the heated front seats from the 2023 Verna.

Underneath the hood, the 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines should be carried forward from the current car. And for those looking for a sportier driving experience, the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine would satisfy their hunger pans. All engines are expected to be offered with iMT (clutchless manual) and automatic transmissions.

The facelifted Kia Seltos is expected to go on sale in the market later this year. And we reckon it could command a few extra bucks over the current model that starts from Rs 10.89 lakh (ex-showroom). It will continue to rival the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, VW Taigun, Skoda Kushaq and upcoming Honda Elevate.
