The Kia Seltos, with its overall rounded capabilities, is one of the most sought after models in its segment

Kia entered the Indian market with the Seltos in 2019, which became an instant success and made the Korean marque a household name. Earlier this year, Kia launched the 2023 Seltos facelift, which builds upon the strong foundation of the earlier car and continues the legacy of the nameplate. In this report, let’s look at the key highlights of the new Seltos in 10 detailed images.

Up front, the 2023 Kia Seltos facelift now comes with a larger tiger nose grille with reprofiled LED DRLs that extends into the grille from the headlamps. The bumper has also been tweaked and features vertical fog lamps with aggressive design touches, making it look sporty.

At the side, the Seltos now gets 18-inch alloys that gives it a much beefier stance. The looks are further enhanced by subtle chrome elements and you get to choose from multiple colour options with the higher-end variants getting dual-tone hues.

Our favourite angle ought to be the rear, where the Seltos gets new  connected LED tal lamps lamps that dials up the style quotient. A reprofiled bumper rounds off the overall design changes.

Inside, the main highlight is the new dashboard layout, featuring dual 10.25-inch integrated screens for the touchscreen and digital driver’s display. These screens are now positioned lower and give a much better front-end visibility. The fit, finish and quality is top notch and one of the best in the segment.

There was never any doubt regarding the features of the Seltos, which is loaded to the gills. However, with the 2023 Seltos, Kia has crammed in more stuff such as a digital instrument cluster, rain sensing wipers, two-zone climate control, type-C USB chargers, electronic parking brake and an air purifier. The main party trick is the large panoramic sunroof that lets in more light inside the cabin.

Rear seat passengers get some nice comfort elements apart from the comfortable bench and good legroom. These include dual type C ports, 2 cup holders in the folding armrest along, sun shades as well as 3-point seat belts and adjustable headrests for all passengers.

The new Seltos now boasts of 6 airbags, disc brakes on all wheels, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera and a tyre pressure monitoring system. However, the main addition here is the presence of ADAS, which makes highway driving all the more safer and comfortable.

You get to choose the Seltos with three engine options - a naturally aspirated 115PS 1.5-litre petrol, a  160PS 1.5-litre turbo petrol and a 116PS 1.5-litre diesel engine. The base petrol engine gets a 6-speed manual and a CVT gearbox, while the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol gets a 6-speed iMT or a 7-speed DCT automatic. Finally the diesel is paired with a 6-speed iMT and 6-speed torque converter.

Then there’s the trims. The Seltos is available in 18 variants, falling broadly under three trims:  Tech Line, GT Line and X Line. At the end of the day, customers want choice and Seltos offers something for everyone.
