It seems like the popularity of the Royal Enfield twins is not going to dissipate any time soon. It’s been more than seven months since RE launched the motorcycles in India and you’ll still have to wait for months to get your hands on either of these machines. Here’s the complete list of the waiting periods for the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650 across major cities:

The waiting period for the Interceptor 650 is the least in Chennai. One of the reasons for this could be that RE has a manufacturing plant there, making it easier for Chennai dealers to get their hands on the units.

With prices starting from Rs 2.5 lakh, both the motorcycles are the cheapest 650cc twin-cylinders in India right now, providing a phenomenal value-for-money proposition for Indian customers. In fact, as per the June sales report, Royal Enfield sold more than 1,700 units of the 650 twins, which is more than the 390 Duke, Ninja 300 and the Apache RR 310… combined! However, the company will be increasing the production capacity soon, which could bring down the waiting period for both motorcycles.
