The engine specs are out and now Ducati is all set to unveil the Panigale V4

Ducati has just announced the all new Desmosedici Stradale engine, which is derived from the Desmosedici GP bike. This powerful motor will power the upcoming Ducati Panigale V4, the iconic Italian brand’s first ever 4-cylinder production bike. It is set to make its debut on November 5, 2017, in Milan. Fortunately, you won’t have to wait that long for a sneak peak.

Thanks to recent spy shots, we now have a much better idea of how the new Panigale looks.

Ducati Panigale V4

For starters, the new V4 looks continue to showcase the purposeful aerodynamic design approach the Panigale series has been well known for. However, some minor tweaks make it stand out from the earlier models. The front mudguard has been designed to blend with the restyled fairing. Speaking of the fairing, it’s now front leaning now, as compared to the previous model. Hot air will be channeled through the arrow-shaped air vents on the side, which seems to be placed further away from the rider’s legs. The fairing continues to flow into the fuel tank, balancing the more masculine looking front. The fuel tank and the rider seat seems to be the same, while the rear continues to house LED tail lights which are distinctive of the Panigale series.

The front continues to showcase the USD forks, while the off-set rear monoshock is now replaced with a vertically mounted unit. Both electronically adjustable. The cylindrical exhaust cans seen on the 1299 Panigale are now replaced with sharper looking rectangular exhaust cans on the V4. The single sided swingarm also seems to be redesigned and looks lighter.

The 1103cc engine is claimed to produce 213PS of power and 120 Nm of peak torque from 8750rpm to 12250rpm. This is quite an increment when you compare it to the current flagship, the Panigale 1299, which produces 205PS power and 144.6Nm of torque at 8750rpm.

Even though there aren’t any major changes to the basic design language, the upcoming bike certainly looks appealing. The all new engine, however, takes the limelight as it’s not only Euro-4 compliant, but also more powerful and potent, as claimed by the Italian bike maker. November isn’t far away, and we can’t wait to see how the Panigale V4 looks in its final avatar. That said, we are even more eager to find out how this new engine fares against the competition.
