Honda has finally taken the wraps off the new Activa 6G today. The updated scooter will arrive at your nearest Honda dealership by the end of this month or by the first week of February. If you didn’t attend the launch event, we bring the launch event to you. Well, not literally. Here are some detailed shots of the new Activa 6G from the launch event for you to ogle at:

Nope, it’s not the Activa 5G. This is the new Activa 6G. Look’s quite similar, no? Scroll down for more details.

If you look closer, you’ll see small design changes between the two models. The front-end and the side panels are slightly different from before.

While the headlamp might look similar to its predecessor, it’s now an all-LED unit.

Come on, Honda! It’s 2020. You can’t give a scooter a full-analogue instrument console. At least the 5G had a semi-digital unit.

The new Activa 6G features an engine kill switch.

For added convenience, the Activa 6G comes with a remote seat opener switch.

Speaking of convenience, Honda has thrown in an external fuel filler cap.

The 109.51cc unit is now fuel-injected and churns out 7.79PS and 8.79Nm -- 0.17PS and 0.21Nm less than before. Honda claims the Activa 6G is 10 per cent more fuel-efficient than before.

Honda has equipped the Activa 6G with a telescopic front fork and a 3-step preload-adjustable single shock absorber at the rear.

The new suspension setup, coupled with the larger 12-inch front wheel, should result in much better ride quality than before. The rear, however, continues to use a 10-inch wheel.

Braking hardware includes the same 130mm drum units on both ends, with CBS offered as standard.

The scooter gets an 18mm extra ground clearance, at 171mm. For better stability on the straights, it also gets a 22mm longer wheelbase, at 1260mm. Interestingly, the Activa 6G tips the scales at 107kg, which is 2kg lighter than the Activa 5G.

Honda has also equipped it with an Alternating Starter Generator (ACG) starter, which is similar to the one in the Activa 125 BS6.

Planning to buy one? Well, it will reach dealerships by the end of this month. But before you do that, you might want to take a while to choose a colour among the 6 available paint options.
