  • Details of the upcoming Hero Glamour X-Tec have been leaked online, revealing crucial information, suggesting it would be the new top-of-the-line variant of the Glamour.

To begin with, there aren’t any major design changes to the Glamour X-Tec other than the addition of three new paint jobs -- Grey Blue, Grey Red and Techno Black -- all of which make the bike look sportier than its standard self.

The major change with this variant is in the features. The leaked document reveals that the X-Tec will feature a digital LCD instrument cluster (similar to the Hero XPulse 200) with Bluetooth connectivity, a segment-first for 125cc bikes in India. A full-LED headlamp, a USB port, and combined braking system (CBS) are also expected.

The new Glamour X-Tec will probably retain the single-cylinder 124cc motor from its standard variant, delivering 10.73PS and 10.6Nm, tweaked for more efficiency. No changes to the underpinnings are expected.

We think Hero MotoCorp has brought the Glamour X-Tec to take on the Glamour’s arch-rival, the Honda SP125, which packs most of the aforementioned features. And given the extra features, the X-Tec could command a premium of about Rs 2,000-3,000 over the standard Glamour, which would put it right in the crosshairs of the SP125.
