The paint schemes are available for select bikes under the Softail and Touring lineup

Harley paint kit

Harley-Davidson motorcycles are known for their ease of customisation and now the American bikemaker has introduced custom paint sets for select motorcycles. There are two colour schemes on offer: Mayhem and Quick Shift Limited Series Paint Set. These two kits take the oomph factor to a whole new level as they are a complete departure from the run-of-the-mill colour schemes. In essence, the kit contains painted bodywork which replaces the stock panels.

The kits are available for the standard and special variants of the Road Glide, Street Glide, Road King and Street Glide (all 2017 model year onwards). Apart from these bikes, the kit is available for the Breakout and Fat Bob (both 2018 model year onwards) as well.

Harley Mayhem

These kits command quite a premium price, though. The Mayhem kit ranges from $6099 to $7099 (around Rs 4.32 lakh to Rs 5.02 lakh)! That’s almost as much as a Street 750’s ex-showroom price! Of course, such a premium kit comes with limited availability. 150 kits worldwide, to be precise. This kit includes parts like front and rear fenders with lighting, Stretched Boom! Audio-compatible saddlebags and matching Faceplates, side covers, fuel tank and outer fairing to name a few.

Harley Quick Shift

The Quick Shift kit is priced around $1699 to $3099 (around Rs 1.2 lakh to Rs 2.19 lakh). This kit is priced lower as it includes just the fuel tank, front and rear fenders. Only 100 units of the Quick Shift kit is available worldwide. Shipping for both the kits starts from December 2019 onwards, and these kits come with a certificate of authenticity as well.

All compatible motorcycles except for the Breakout are available in India, so expect Harley to offer it to our customers in the near future. While these kits boast of painstaking attention to detail and exclusivity, we feel the kits are too steeply-priced for what’s purely cosmetic. It might allure hardcore Harley fanatics but there are a lot of ways for riders to customise their Harley at a much more affordable price.
