[Update: Bajaj Dominar 250 Launched In India At Rs 1.6 lakh]

One of the most interesting things on the Bajaj front right now is the upcoming Dominar 250. The bike has already been spotted testing, and even Rajiv Bajaj himself has confirmed that it’s on the way. Now, though, the timeline for the little Dominar is a little more clear. We’ve received an invitation to ride the bike in the month of March, and it’s highly likely that the official launch will take place at around the same time.
The existence of this smaller Dominar has been necessitated by various different reasons that you can read about here. Chief among these is the fact that the price of the Dominar 400 has steadily increased since it was first introduced, and Bajaj wants to make the Dominar sub-brand a little more accessible once again.

Fortunately, it already has the hardware in place to do the same. The 250cc motor will come from its Austrian cousin, the KTM 250 Duke, and the design and underpinnings can be donated by the larger Dominar 400. There will be some changes to help keep costs down, though. The USD fork will be swapped out for a more cost-effective conventional unit, and the beefy cast swingarm will make way for a box-section unit.
We expect that these measures will help Bajaj price the Dominar at around Rs 1.5 lakh ex-showroom once launched. Mind you, this would still be higher than the Rs 1.36 lakh price tag that the Dominar 400 sported when it first came out back in 2016!
