BREAKING: Honda CB500 Launched In India At Rs 2.75 Lakh

Honda has launched the CB500 in India, with the new roadster positioned above the CB350 range. The motorcycle brings a larger-capacity single-cylinder engine, more premium hardware and additional features, while retaining the retro-inspired styling seen on smaller Honda’s CB range. While the detailed specifications are yet to be revealed by the bikemaker, here’s what we know so far:

Honda CB500 Top Variant

What We Know So Far

The Honda CB500 is powered by an all-new 501cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine producing 28.1 PS and 43.3 Nm. The engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox, which should give the CB500 a relaxed character suited to everyday riding as well as highway use.

Despite its old-school engine configuration, Honda has equipped the motorcycle with modern features. It gets a semi-digital instrument console which supports Honda RoadSync connectivity, bringing turn-by-turn navigation along with call and SMS alerts.

The CB500 also gets a slipper clutch and switchable traction control, adding to its feature list.

Under the skin, the motorcycle uses a telescopic fork and twin gas-charged shock absorbers. It rides on a 19-inch front wheel and 17-inch rear wheel, while braking hardware comprises disc brakes at both ends.

In terms of styling, the CB500 follows the familiar retro roadster formula seen on the CB350. However, the larger engine and revised mechanical package give it a more substantial look.

Honda will offer the CB500 in three variants. The standard version gets alloy wheels, while the other two variants feature cross-spoke wheels. The range-topping version additionally gets dedicated graphics.

The base alloy wheel variant comes in two colours: Pearl Deep Ground Gray and Pearl Igneous Black. 

The mid-spec tubless spoke wheel variant also gets two shades: Rebel Red Metallic 2 and Mat Steel Silver Metallic. 

The top-spec Stripes variant gets a single Pearl Igneous Black paint scheme.

Delivery Timeline

Honda has now opened bookings for the CB500, with deliveries expected to follow its market launch. The detailed specifications of the Honda bike will be revealed in the 3rd quarter of FY 2026-27 for the CB500 Alloy and the 4th quarter of FY 2026-27 for the CB500 Spoke and Spoke with Stripes, with deliveries commencing shortly after.

Rivals

With its larger displacement and retro roadster positioning, the Honda CB500 will enter the midsize motorcycle segment. It will go up against the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and BSA Gold Star 650.

Along with the launch of the CB500, the Japanese bikemaker has also updated the CB350 range with new shades. The CB350 range includes three bikes: CB350, CB350C and the CB350 RS, and each bike gets multiple variants.
