If we say Hero MotoCorp, two motorcycles come to mind - the Splendor and Passion. While the Splendor, Hero’s favourite child, has always enjoyed a good life getting all the latest updates, the Passion was apathetically discontinued for a brief period. However, with the BS6.2 update, its BACK, and here’s everything you need to know.
What's the Price and Rivals:
Hero has priced the 2023 Passion Plus at Rs 76,301 and it sits between the Splendour Plus (Rs 73,481 and above) and the Splendour Plus Xtec (Rs 78,251). It rivals the Honda Shine 100 which costs Rs 64,900 and the Bajaj Platina 100 which is priced at Rs 67,808 (ex-showroom Delhi).
What’s New?

Besides becoming BS6.2 compliant, the new Passion Plus also gets a touch of modernity with a few new features. Giving it a breath of freshness is a semi-digital instrument console which features a tripmeter, odometer, and fuel gauge along with your usual tell-tale lights.
Also available is a side-stand indication, a mobile charging port and a handy lockable utility case on the right side for extra convenience. Hero has also integrated their i3s start/stop technology into the engine which should help with extracting good fuel efficiency on your daily commutes. For a closer look at its features, check out this story.
What’s Unchanged?
What remains unchanged is the 97.2cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder sloper engine similar to that on the Splendor, HF Deluxe and the HF 100. It currently makes 8.02PS and 8.05Nm and the motor is mated to a four-speed gearbox.
ZigSays

While it’s good to see the old workhorse make a comeback after a brief hiatus, what we find as a bit of a step in the opposite direction is the price. At Rs 70,301 (ex-showroom Delhi) it’s fairly more expensive than its rivals. This price difference could send customers looking at other alternatives.
