Nissan has recently launched the facelifted Magnite at an introductory price range of Rs 6 lakh to Rs 11.5 lakh (ex-showroom). The sub-compact SUV is revised with cosmetic tweaks and feature additions. It is available to buy in six variants: Visia, Visia+, Acenta, N-Connecta, Tekna, and Tekna+.
Well if you're considering the base-spec model, which has been launched at a rather attractive price, we've provided some details with real-life images of the car below to give you a closer look.
For the budget, the first compromise with the base-spec Visia variant comes in limited colour options. It is available only in two monotone shades: Storm White and Blade Silver.
Starting with the front, the design is fairly basic, featuring a slightly larger grille with chrome surrounds. It comes with halogen headlights, and as expected with base models, you miss out on fog lamps and LED DRLs. The silver skid plate on the bumper is reserved for the higher-spec variants.
From the side, you’ll notice silver roof rails, black ORVMs, and chrome door handles, with the indicator positioned on the front fender. Just above the indicator, there’s a 'Magnite' badging which is consistent across all variants.
Instead of the 16-inch alloy wheels found on higher models, this version comes with 16-inch steel wheels without covers.
At the rear, the Visia variant lacks the LED tail lights seen in the higher trims, opting for halogen bulbs instead. It does come with a neatly integrated roof spoiler, but you’ll miss out on the shark-fin antenna and silver skid plate available on the higher variants.
Inside the cabin, the base-spec Visia features an all-black theme with contrasting silver elements on the steering wheel and AC vents. It does come with power windows for all four doors, but look closely and you'll notice the absence of an infotainment system.
The higher-spec Magnite gets an 8-inch infotainment system but in this version, you'll need to explore aftermarket options for music and speakers.
The seats are upholstered in fabric, and at the rear, there's an armrest with cup holders. In comparison, the top-spec Magnite offers leatherette seats with a more premium dual-tone interior theme with plenty of soft-touch materials.
It is equipped with comfort and convenience features like tilt adjustable steering, manual AC, a 12 V power socket and 60:40 split rear seats. For the safety bit, it gets 6 airbags which is standard besides ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat mounts, hill start assist, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and rear parking sensors.
The Visia variant of the Magnite is only equipped with a single 1-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that returns an output of 72 PS and 96 Nm. It can be had with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT.
The base-spec Visia variant of the facelifted Nissan Magnite starts at Rs 6 lakh, the same as the outgoing model’s entry-level price, and goes up to Rs 6.5 lakh depending on the transmission choice you choose. Do note that this pricing is part of an introductory offer, applicable only for the first 10,000 bookings.
The Nissan Magnite competes with the likes of the Tata Punch, Hyundai Exter, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Kia Sonet, Renault Kiger, Mahindra XUV3XO, and Hyundai Venue.
