Exterior

BMW’s 7 Series has always carried an opulent stature, and They have always been about the latest and greatest in terms of BMW’s design and tech, which later trickles down to the lower models.

What’s new in the 7 Series and the i7 is the fascia, which now looks much more serious and has a boxier design theme which carries out throughout the car. The illuminated BMW kidney grille is now larger in the facelift and has a flatter design as opposed to the outgoing model.

The split LED light setup is retained in the facelifts but with newer designs. The LED DRLs get a flatter design with a crystal effect when you look at it up close. Further down, the simplistic yet boxier approach in the updated design includes the vertically-stacked LED headlamps on the corner with subtle air vents integrated right below.

Moving to the side, eagle-eyed observers will notice the updated flush-fit door handles, which now look simpler than before. The full-size luxury sedans carry over the stately silhouette with the dual-tone look and the use of satin-silver finishes on the window lines.

The rear end of the 7 Series follows the current design language of BMW sedans thanks to the wide twin-slated LED taillamp design. The overall theme here has also been simplified, giving it an effortless regal look.

Interior

The interior is a major upgrade over the outgoing model, simply thanks to the added screens. The large touchscreen infotainment system sits beside a BMW-first passenger display, which includes OTT entertainment and gaming on the move, and can also be connected to your smartphone.

What is more eye-catching here is the large panoramic display which spans the width of the dashboard under the windshield. This acts as the driver's information display. Mind you, the driver also gets a windshield-projected heads-up display. Also new is a four-spoke steering wheel design by BMW, which can be of a polarising taste. However, the overall interior is as you’d expect from a flagship luxury sedan. Lavish in space, high in quality and oozing with technology.

Features

The new 7 Series and i7 get packed with features like a 17.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The passenger also gets a 14.9-inch entertainment screen with smartphone connectivity for gaming.

Rivals

The 7 Series goes against the likes of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class.Meanwhile, the i7 rivals the Porsche Taycan and the Mercedes-Benz EQS.

ZigSays…

Over the years, the 7 Series and i7 have turned out to be favourites of the ultra-wealthy, with their sinister looks, the best quality materials and futuristic tech on offer. The 2026 facelifts further take both sedans far ahead and there’s quite literally all the features you can imagine, insane performance levels and then some more. That said, the price is eye-watering, but that’s never stopped flagship luxury car buyers from bringing home this luxo-barge.
