The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R is the personification of a wild concept from the ’90s that’s made a comeback: an inline-four 400cc screamer. This makes us wonder about the ungodly speeds this beast can hit in each gear. Kawasaki Indonesia has put up a video of the exact same thing, showing a rider maxing out the bike in the third, fourth and fifth gears at the Sentul circuit. Have a look at it below.
The ZX-4R hits a speedo-indicated 152kmph, 187kmph and 207kmph in the third, fourth and fifth gear, respectively. These speeds are accompanied by a melodic symphony from the inline-four screaming past 15,000rpm.
For perspective, the Kawasaki Ninja 400 reached a VBox-tested top speed of 115kmph and 146kmph in the third and fourth gear respectively. That’s what the addition of two cylinders and 35PS can really do!
This Ninja then, sure sounds like the perfect weapon to set tracks on fire. Imagine being able to keep up with your friends on 600cc supersports and even attempting to hunt them down around MMRT. What wouldn’t we give to have it here. Sigh!
