TVS has revealed more details about its upcoming EV products, with the company making EVs in the 5-25kWh range. These will include three-wheelers as well but there are interesting times ahead for two-wheeler enthusiasts.
To keep us hooked, the company MD Sudarshan Venu also disclosed that they are working on an electric motorcycle platform with BMW Motorrad in the sub-15kWh range. Just like the two companies have done with the 310cc platform, this upcoming EV platform could spawn multiple dedicated products for each brand with minimal differences in components and hardware.
While the TVS Creon was showcased back in 2018, we believe that something close to the concept, if not Creon itself, might finally see the light of day. Apart from that, what are the chances that TVS would be working on an electric Apache? The chances are good and we surely cannot wait to see this happen. What also would be fascinating to see is an electric version of the TVS XL100, as it would make a great and convenient product, keeping the legacy of the workhorse intact for future generations.
Venu also revealed that TVS’ subsidiary brand, Norton Motorcycles, is working on developing an electric superbike, which will be a shot for TVS at the luxury EV segment in the global market. Apart from that, with the help of its European electric acquisition of the Swiss E-Mobility group, TVS also plans to tap into the European EV market.
From what we gather, TVS’s electric mobility plans are ambitious, and the bikemaker is going all out to establish itself in the EV segment. We sure hope to see the products entering the markets soon.
