Now that we know what the Punch facelift looks like, Tata Motors has revealed more details about its micro-SUV today, about the variants it will be offered in, and some key feature highlights for each one of them. So let’s go through what each of the 6 variants offers:
Key Highlights:
6 airbags
LED headlamps
Drive modes
Electronic stability program
Keyless entry
Tyre pressure monitoring system
Starting from the base variant, which will be called Smart, it offers some nice features usually not offered as standard in this price bracket, like LED headlamps and configurable drive modes. It also has you covered in terms of safety with 6 airbags, ESP and TPMS, ensuring that the upgrade to higher variants remains discretionary, and not necessary.

Key Highlights(In addition to Smart):
Rear AC Vents
Steering-mounted controls
Front centre armrest
Rear defogger
Manual Day/Night IRVM
The second-from-base Pure trim goes a bit further by adding comfort features like rear AC vents, steering-mounted controls and a front centre armrest. With the basics covered, we would recommend this variant for chauffeur-driven buyers on a budget.

Key Highlights(In addition to Pure):
8-inch touchscreen infotainment system
Reverse camera
Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
Cruise control
USB Type-C fast charger
Height-adjustable driver seat
Next up, the Pure+ variant adds more equipment, including convenience features such as cruise control and wireless connectivity. All these features enhance the overall experience, and we expect it to remain a popular choice amongst first-time buyers if Tata prices it well.

Key Highlights(In addition to Pure+):
360-degree camera
Blind spot monitoring
Push button start
Rear wiper and washer
Automatic climate control
15-inch stylised steel wheels
Auto headlamps
Rain-sensing wipers
One step higher than the Pure+ variant, the Adventure variant adds a lot of new technology with some features usually only seen on top variants. It also adds some style in the form of 15-inch stylised steel wheels, which add that extra bit of premium feel to the design.

Key Highlights(In addition to Adventure):
16-inch alloy wheels
10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system
LED DRLs
LED taillamps
Extendable thigh support for front seats
Touch-based automatic climate control
Going further, the Accomplished variant brings a top-end feel for the interiors with a larger touchscreen, a touch-based panel for climate control settings and extendable thigh support for front seats. On the outside, the 16-inch alloys, LED taillamps and LED DRLs will make it look upmarket as well.

Key Highlights(In addition to Accomplished):
Voice-assisted electric sunroof
LED fog lamps with cornering function
7-inch digital instrument cluster
Wireless smartphone charger
Auto-dimming IRVM
Connected car technology
Tata has reserved the crowd-favourite sunroof exclusively for the top Accomplished+S variant, reserving its position as the absolute range-topper. However, besides the LED fog lamps and auto-dimming IRVM, most other features are cosmetic, and given its expected pricing, we would suggest most buyers instead look at lower variants for a better value-for-money quotient, while not losing much.

With 6 variants on offer, the Punch facelift strikes the sweet spot of offering enough variants for the flexibility of buyers, without getting too confusing. A clear distinction between each one will go further to make customers’ decision-making easier. That said, we will reserve our final judgement until prices are revealed on January 13. Stay tuned to ZigWheels for more details on the Punch facelift as they are announced.
