Tata Motors has been on a roll lately and its latest offering, the Punch facelift is now on sale at a price of Rs 5.59 lakh (ex-showroom). Amongst changes to the styling and a reworked interior, it also gets a long list of features, some of which make their appearance for the first time! And while the list runs long, here are our top picks that you should know about:
An underrated feature for our chaotic urban confines, the 360-degree camera has finally made its debut in the new Punch facelift. Besides just being a convenience feature, it also helps inspire confidence in new drivers and while parking in tight spots.

However, Tata has also given the Punch a blind view monitor as well, which shows the side camera’s feed on the infotainment screen while taking turns or changing lanes, thus improving the safety quotient by a good margin.

Another much awaited safety feature that the Punch facelift finally gets is 6 airbags, which are now standard across the range. Notably, while the pre-facelift version was offered with only front airbags, the Punch facelift now gets front, side as well as curtain airbags enhancing the overall protection offered to passengers. The inclusion of this feature has also played a big part in achieving a 5 star BNCAP crash safety rating for the Punch facelift.

As part of its exterior upgrades, the Punch facelift now gets LED lighting all around. At the front it now gets a vertically-stacked headlamp cluster on the bumper, along with sleeker DRLs which help make it look more premium.

Move on to the rear-end and you get to see a new connected taillamp cluster as well, which adds a dash of modernity and pizzazz, while the black casing ties its design in with other modern Tatas like the Nexon and Altroz.

Next-up is a brand-new 7-inch fully digital instrument cluster, borrowed from the facelifted Altroz which launched last year. This new unit offers clearer graphics along with a more user-friendly interface both of which go a long way in giving the interior a more pleasing look.

A feature that enthusiasts and audiophiles will love is a new 8-speaker sound system, which takes the already great audio experience from the outgoing car, to another level altogether.

Besides just the convenience and safety features, the Punch facelift now also offers a first-in-segment CNG+AMT powertrain combination, which introduces the convenience of a 5-speed AMT and blends it with the affordable running costs granted by the CNG fuel option.

With this 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol+CNG powertrain making 73.5 PS and 103 Nm, it could prove to be a popular choice among buyers clocking a lot of mileage, especially on dense urban roads.
Finally, Tata has addressed perhaps its weakest link and given it some Punch(literally)! Also seen in the Nexon, this new 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine offered with a 6-speed manual transmission truly gives the facelifted Punch the chops it needed for highway runs.

Producing a healthy 120 PS and 170 Nm, it ensures that you won’t be left behind on those nice six-lane smooth highways anymore.
With new styling, better interior and a long list of features, Tata Motors is aiming for the top spot in the micro-SUV segment, once again! This much-longer equipment list will go on to play a major role in furthering the legacy that has helped build Tata into one of India’s largest carmakers.
