Tata has launched the CNG variants of the Nexon with prices starting from Rs 8.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It is available in eight broad trims and packs new features for the nameplate. It also becomes India’s first CNG vehicle to be paired with a turbo-petrol engine. Let’s look at both the new avatars of the Nexon in details:
The Tata Nexon CNG is available in eight variants: Smart (O), Smart +, Smart + S, Pure, Pure S, Creative, Creative +, and Fearless + PS. Prices for these variants juggle between Rs 8.99 lakh and Rs 14.59 lakh (ex-showroom).

There are no styling changes save from the addition of the ‘iCNG’ badge.

But it gets big changes inside its cabin. In terms of features, it gets the standard kit which includes the dual 10.25-inch infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated seats, auto AC, wireless phone charger, 8-speaker sound system, and air purifier. But additionally, it also gets a new panoramic sunroof, which is a first for any CNG vehicle in India.
Its safety kit includes 6 airbags, 360-degree camera, rain sensing wipers, hill hold control and electronic stability program.

The Nexon CNG also becomes the first CNG equipped vehicle in India to be paired with a turbo-petrol engine. In the Nexon’s case, it’s a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine, which puts out 100PS and 170Nm in CNG mode. It is paired with a 6-speed manual only. It uses Tata’s dual cylinder technology which helps it boast an impressive boot space figure of 321-litres. The CNG powertrain has a claimed fuel efficiency of 24km/kg.

It gets direct CNG start technology and the two tanks have a combined capacity of 60-litres.
The Tata Nexon CNG will rival the likes of the Maruti Brezza CNG and Fronx CNG.
