Bengaluru-based Simple Energy announced that it has upgraded the Simple One's motor for better performance and efficiency. In fact, with these updates, the e-scooter could turn out to be the torquiest in our market.
The 8.5kWh motor, built in-house, boasts a 0-40kmph acceleration time of under 2.85 seconds. With this update, Simple Energy claims that the acceleration is even faster, and the motor now achieves 72Nm, the most across all scooters in India. The efficiency has also gone up to 96 percent.
The Simple One made its first public appearance on August 15 last year, with pre-bookings commencing the same day. In the past few months, the startup has improved its battery technology and has promised more updates before starting deliveries in June this year. The Simple One goes up against Ola Electric S1 and Ather 450X.
