Non-hybrid Toyota Innova Hycross To Get New Higher-end Petrol Variants, Features Revealed

The Toyota Innova Hycross with the hybrid powertrain option has so far been getting more features as it’s offered in higher-end variants, while the petrol model, limited to lower-end trims, has had to sacrifice some niceties. But soon, things are going to change, with the Hycross petrol getting a new top-end GX (O) variant.

The new GX (O) trim is listed on Toyota India’s website, but the price is yet to be disclosed. While the petrol-only Innova Hycross is available in two trims: G and GX. The new trim will be positioned above the GX trim, and will be available in both seven and eight-seater configurations.

As for the features, the GX (O) trim will come equipped with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto (7-seater only), automatic climate control, cruise control, wireless phone charging, and 4-speaker sound system. The 8-seater will get the smaller 8-inch touchscreen.

Safety features include six airbags, ABS with EBD, a reverse parking camera, rear and front parking sensors, electronic stability control, and hill start assist.

Mechanically, the non-hybrid Hycross GX (O) will get no changes and is powered by a 2-litre petrol engine delivering 174 PS/209 Nm, paired with a CVT. Tap here to check out our first drive report of the Innova Hycross.

Prices for the GX (O) trim are expected to start higher than the GX trim, which is priced from 19.77 lakh (ex-showroom). It is a premium alternative to the Toyota Innova Crysta, Kia Carens, and Mahindra Marazzo.
