We have seen plenty of new EVs come with the pedestrian alert feature, which is technically called Acoustic Vehicle Alert System (AVAS). Similarly, strong hybrid powertrains are also nearly as silent as fully electric vehicles, and they, too, benefit from this feature. The popular Toyota Innova Hycross also comes with a strong-hybrid option, on which you now get the AVAS-tech. The rest of the features remain the same, and the prices have not been changed with this update.
It is offered across all variants of the hybrid version: VX, VX(O), ZX, and ZX(O).
The AVAS feature emits a low-frequency sound when the car is running at lower speeds (up to 20 kmph). What this does is that it alerts the pedestrians about the arrival and presence of the car. This acts as a safety feature and is often available on strong hybrids, EVs, and plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs) as these powertrains have no engine sound, especially at lower speeds.
The Hycross hybrid in the top-spec avatar is loaded to the brim with premium features. The top ones include a 10.1-inch touchscreen, a 7-inch digital driver's display, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone AC, ventilated front seats, and a wireless phone charger.
In terms of safety, it gets a suite of ADAS features, 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, front and rear parking sensors, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and a 360-degree camera.
In addition to the strong-hybrid, the Hycross also comes with a naturally-aspirated petrol engine. Here’s a detailed look at the powertrain specifications:

The Toyota Innova Hycross ranges between Rs 19.94 lakh and Rs 31.24 lakh (ex-showroom). It competes with the likes of the Maruti Invicto and Toyota Innova Crysta while being a premium and larger alternative to the Kia Carens.
