The Kia Seltos 2026 has already been creating a buzz around its new design and styling, along with the features, tech, and performance on offer, coming in as a well-rounded package. The X-Line variant takes that formula and adds a generous dose of attitude with its darker, more premium styling cues and an overall bolder stance. Now, it is time to find out what exactly makes this variant special and how it differs from the regular Seltos.
The new Kia Seltos 2026 comes in with a more boxy, upright, and dominating stance. Speaking of the X-Line variant, it is more of a styling pack upgrade on the standard Seltos. At the front, it gets a robust skid plate with high gloss finishing attached to the front bumper with squarer lines, a sculpted grille finished in gloss black, vertical LED DRLs and a reworked ice-cube LED headlight setup. There is absolutely no use of chrome garnish in the exteriors.

Shifting towards the side, it gets side door garnishing with dark gunmetal accents, all-black 18-inch alloy wheels, flush door handles, and ORVMs, roof rails, and body claddings finished in gloss black that add to the muscular character of the car.

At the rear, it houses a rear skid plate with high gloss finishing, along with the rear bumper that also has glossy black touches. The design is further complemented by connected LED taillights, an integrated spoiler, and a clean tailgate design. All of this adds to the strong and unique road presence the Seltos X-Line carries with it.

The X-Line variant on the Seltos can be had with only two colour options - Xclusive Matte Graphite and Aurora Black Pearl. Both the dark colour options, when blended with the styling, are meant to assert dominance on the road.

Step inside the Kia Seltos X-Line, and you will immediately be blown away by its sporty yet elegant character. The interior is finished in a dual-tone Smoky Black and Hunter Green colour theme with satin metal accents, and the same colour scheme is followed on the leatherette seats. You do not get any white inserts here like the standard Seltos; in fact, most of these trims are finished in black colour. The steering wheel itself gets an all-black treatment.

The dashboard layout on the new Seltos has been redesigned to feel wider and more upmarket than before. The absence of overloaded touch controls or oversized screens and instead using physical buttons for key functions improves the practicality of the cabin.

On the rear seats, the Seltos continues to offer plenty of space, thanks to its grown dimensions. Occupants get good knee room, ample headroom, and enough space to seat three. The sense of comfort is further enhanced with a panoramic sunroof, rear AC vents, and window sun blinds.

Being the top-end variant, the Seltos X-Line is loaded with all the features that you would ever need. Starting off, it gets a dual 12.3-inch screen setup, one for the touchscreen infotainment and another one for the driver’s display, a 10-way electrically adjustable driver seat with lumbar support, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, 8-speaker BOSE sound system, 64-colour ambient lighting, dual-zone automatic climate control, and drive and traction modes. Seltos’s legacy of being the most feature-loaded is clearly continued here.

On the safety front, Kia has loaded the Seltos with features like a Level-2 ADAS suite (packing in LDW, LKA, FCW, AEB and more such features), a 360-degree camera with front and rear sensors, 6 airbags, electronic parking brake with auto-hold, all-wheel disc brakes, ABS with EBD, brake assist, electronic stability control, hill-hold assist, downhill brake control, tyre pressure monitoring system and impact sensing auto door unlock. Out of these, quite some features are standard across all variants.

The Kia Seltos 2026, the X-Line variants to be precise, can be had with three engine options. These include a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. Sadly, though, the X-Line variant does not offer a manual transmission on any engine, only automatics are in the picture.

Bookings for the new Kia Seltos are now open for a token amount of Rs 25,000. The official launch is slated for January 2, 2026, along with the announcement of prices. The commencement of deliveries is expected later in mid-January 2026.

As mentioned above, Kia has not yet released the official price list of the new Seltos, but going by the current prices of the outgoing model, the 2026 Seltos can be priced from Rs 11.2 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base Petrol NA manual, while the top-of-the-line X-Line Diesel AT could be priced at around Rs 22 lakh (ex-showroom). The X-Line trims are the top-of-the-line variants, so you should expect a steeper price for the same.

Once Kia launches the Seltos, it will remain in competition with popular models like the newly launched Tata Sierra, its sibling- Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Victoris, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Honda Elevate, Tata Curvv, MG Astor, and the German brandmates, Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun. Renault's upcoming Duster and its Nissan counterpart, the Tekton, are also expected to give a tough fight to the new Seltos.
The Kia Seltos X-Line continues to be the variant for buyers looking for a classy theme with a side of attitude. The overall core package isn’t hampered, but the darker styling, premium touches, and added visual kit boost the road presence, making it the version that turns heads. If you want a Seltos that looks as serious as the spec sheet, the X-Line remains the one to pick.
