The scooter is going to be launched on July 1, 2025, in India
It is no secret that Hero is going to launch an even more affordable electric scooter than the current V2 range. The brand first showcased the Vida Z e-scooter at the 2024 EICMA show, and later, it was spied testing too. In May, it was spotted undisguised at a dealership, with the VX2 branding. The company had also trademarked the name Vida VX2, along with the VX2 Pro, Plus and Go variants. It’s pretty evident that the upcoming Hero electric scooter will be called the Vida VX2.
The upcoming electric scooter departs from the sporty design language of the V2 range and embraces a more family-oriented styling. Hero recently teased the scooter on its social media handle, and it revealed some interesting new details of the upcoming scooter. The brand also made an interesting announcement recently that clearly suggests that it will be way more affordable than you think. Here’s how:

Battery As A Service
To further reduce the upfront cost of ownership, the Vida VX2 will be offered in subscription-based Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model. What this means is that you wont have to pay for the battery when you purchase the scooter. Instead, you pay whenever you charge the battery from the charging station. Owners will also have the option to choose from a monthly subscription model.
So technically, you’ll be paying the price up front only for the scooter, excluding the battery pack. Since the battery pack is the most expensive component of an EV, having a subscription model will reduce the financial strain during the purchase.
Multiple Variants Incoming
The scooter in the teaser posted by Hero did not have a disc brake at the front, but there was one in the test mule that was spied earlier. Putting two and two together, it’s likely that the upcoming Hero Vida VX2 will be offered in multiple variants, which the trademarks also confirm. The variants may differ in the amount of features or the list of equipment they come with.

ZigSays
The complete details of the scooter, including its price, variants and details of its subscription model will be revealed on July 1, 2025. The Vida V2 range starts from Rs 74,000 and goes up to Rs 1,20,300 (ex-showroom including subsidies), if the upcoming VX2 range is believed to undercut even the V2 range then, it will be a solid proposition for anyone who wants an affordable and dependable electric scooter from a reputed brand. With removable batteries and a solid charging infrastructure (3600 fast charging stations pan India), the VX2 will have the potential to create a mark in the segment.
