Mahindra Thar Roxx front fascia revealed ahead of official launch.
Gets a redesigned grille and bumper with new C-shaped LED DRLs and headlights.
Will feature a large panoramic sunroof, 10.25-inch infotainment system and digital driver’s display.
Most likely to borrow the 2-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engine options being offered in the 3-door Thar.
Mahindra has been vigorously teasing the upcoming Thar Roxx, giving out glimpses of its exteriors and interiors before its official launch slated for August 15, 2024. In comparison to the regular 3-door Thar, the 5-door Thar Roxx will be a lifestyle off-road capable SUV with an upmarket look, elongated wheelbase and added doors. The most recent teaser reveals the clearest look at its front fascia which has been given a more aggressive styling to make it distinctive looking than the Thar 3-door models. Let's take a look at what all has been changed in the Thar Roxx.
The front of the 5-door Mahindra Thar Roxx has been tweaked by introducing a new 6-slat grill and chunkier bumpers with silver finish inserts down below. The main highlight is the new headlamp cluster which is now a LED projector unit with integrated C-shaped LED DRLs, both of which are a miss in the Thar 3-door model.

Upon a closer look, the grille also houses a front camera, suggesting that it could be equipped with a 360 degree camera setup. The bumpers down below house the fog-lamps, while the turn indicators position remains unchanged from the fenders.
The previous spy-shots and teasers have already hinted upon its light-coloured interiors and premium leatherette upholstery as found in the XUV700 and XUV 3XO models. It will also feature a large 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a panoramic sunroof (limited to top-spec trims) along with a single-pane sunroof (mid-spec trims), and a premium Harman/Kardon sound system. It is also expected to get ventilated front passenger seats.

On the safety front, the Thar Roxx is expected to be equipped with 6-airbags, ABS with EBD and electronic stability control as standard across the line-up. Additionally it is also likely to get disk brakes on all four wheels, hill-hold and hill-descent control, and tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). Furthermore, it is also expected to get a 360-degree surround view camera with front and rear parking sensors and ADAS Level-2 suite including blind spot detection, emergency braking, lane-keep assist and adaptive cruise control.
The Mahindra Thar Roxx will most likely borrow the same 2-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engine options from the Thar 3-door, but possibly in a higher state of tune. These engines could be available with the choice of a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The Thar Roxx is most likely to be offered in both two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations.

The Mahindra Thar Roxx is expected to be launched at an introductory price of around Rs 12.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It will rival other life-style off-road capable SUVs in the market like the Force Gurkha 5-door and will be a larger alternative to the Maruti Suzuki Jimny.
