Because Mahindra has just taken the wraps off the Thar Roxx Star Edition, which has been launched at a price of Rs 16.85 lakh (ex-showroom).  The easiest way to tell this edition is its contrasting black grille and 19-inch alloy wheels. It also gets a ‘Star Edition’ badge on the rear fender to denote that you’re driving this special edition.  The changes can be easily spotted if you pick up vibrant colours. Speaking of which, Mahindra has introduced a new Citrine Yellow hue that pops out well. Other colour options include Tango Red, Everest White and Stealth Black.

Inside, the Mahindra Thar Roxx Star Edition’s cabin has got a crucial update we’ve been wishing for from day 1! And that’s black upholstery, which will be way easier to maintain when compared to the regular one’s white hue. For a dash contrast, the lower half of the dashboard and some bits on the door pads get a grey finish. 

2026 Mahindra Thar Roxx Star Edition: Features Onboard! 

Since the Mahindra Thar Roxx Star Edition is based on the top-spec AX7 L variant, you get all the bells and whistles. Highlights include a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, ventilated front seats, a 9-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, wireless phone charger and push button start. 

Passenger safety is taken care of by 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, a rear parking camera, and electronic stability control. If you want your Thar Roxx with ADAS, you'd have to consider the top model.

You get the same engine options of the AX7 L, which includes the turbo-petrol (only with automatic) and diesel (with both manual and automatic) engines. Design is always subjective according to this author, I love the contrast look. But the provision of black upholstery is welcome and will be very easy to maintain. So if you like this contrast look and want it from the factory, this edition is for you.
