John Abraham's New Mahindra Thar Roxx Isn't Like Yours

Whether it was Kabir from “Dhoom”, or Jerry from “Desi Boyz”, the versatile John Abraham has impressed us all with his action-packed movies. While many might be aware about his love for bikes and his popular collection, the Bollywood actor is also an avid car enthusiast. This time around, he has purchased a Mahindra Thar Roxx with bespoke detailing and customisation from the factory. 

Since the time of its launch, the actor has always openly spoken about his love for rugged SUVs, especially the ones that are meant to go off-road. The Thar Roxx ticks that box while also being practical enough to use on a daily basis. 

Without further ado, lets take a look at how John Abraham's Thar Roxx stands out from the regular model: 

John Abraham Edition! 

The Bollywood star opted for the Stealth Black hue which is one of the best-looking colours on the SUV. The black hue is complemented by the custom made black badges on the sides, including the “Mahindra Thar” lettering on the front fender and black “4x4” badging with red inserts. For reference, in the standard car, these bits come in chrome. 

The door handles and ORVMs are also finished in black. What’s even special is that it gets the “JA” signature on the C-pillar! So if you are in Mumbai and spot a black Thar Roxx with the signature on it, you now know who is the owner of this vehicle! 

Moving inside, John’s Thar Roxx is finished in the darker Mocha Brown theme which goes well with the exterior shade. Positioned below the left AC vent, it gets “Made For John Abraham" lettering on the Vehicle Identification Number plate. The “JA” signature has been embroidered in yellow on the front and rear headrests as well. 

Features 

John Abraham’s Thar Roxx is the top-spec AX7 L model, which comes with all the bells and whistles. The top ones include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, ventilated front seats, a 9-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charger, and powered driver’s seat. 

 Passenger safety is taken care of by level-2 ADAS features, six airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors with a 360-degree camera, and electronic parking brake with auto hold.

Powertrain

The bespoke Thar Roxx is powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine which makes 175 PS and 370 Nm and is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. It is the 4x4 variant that the actor has opted for. The Thar Roxx can also be purchased with a RWD option and a 2-litre turbo-petrol engine.

Price And Rivals 

Prices for the Thar Roxx ranges between Rs 12.99 lakh to Rs 23.09 lakh (ex-showroom). It competes with the likes of Force Gurkha 5-door and is a larger alternative to the Maruti Suzuki Jimny.
