The Aprilia RS 457 just received a naked sibling as the Tuono 457 has been unveiled at EICMA 2024. It is based on the supersport bike’s platform with some design and hardware changes to turn it into a naked bike.

The Tuono 457 gets a redesigned front-end, a split-LED headlight setup with a small spoiler underneath it and long tank shrouds.. The bike is available with two colour options: Piranha Red and Puma Gray.

The bike is powered by the same 457cc liquid-cooled, parallel-twin cylinder engine found in the Aprilia RS 457, and it produces 47.6PS at 9,400rpm and 43.5Nm at 6,700rpm. It has a slipper clutch and a bi-directional quickshifter. The Tuono 457 has a twin-spar aluminium frame while the 41mm inverted fork (with 120mm wheel travel) and monoshock (with 130mm wheel travel) setup has preload adjustability. Stopping the bike is a 320mm front disc brake and a 220mm rear disc brake with radially mounted ByBre callipers at both ends.

The Tuono 457 rolls on 110-section front and 150-section rear tyres with 17-inch wheels at both ends while the dry weight of the bike stands at 159kg. It is loaded with features as the bike gets a 5-inch TFT instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity. It has a ride-by-wire system with three riding modes: Eco, Sport and Rain. It also has three levels of traction control that can be switched off.

The sub-450cc naked bike will most likely be launched in Europe first and is expected to be launched in our shores by mid-2025 with a price close to Rs 4 lakh (ex-showroom). The sub-450cc performance bike segment is pretty competitive and the Tuono 457 will face a lot of that competitiveness from the likes of the KTM 390 Duke and Yamaha MT-03.
