Aprilia India recently launched the long-awaited Tuono 457 in India. It is the streetfighter version of the fully faired RS457. Launched at a price of Rs 3.95 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), the motorcycle offers a decent set of features for the price. Lets have a closer look at what all features the Aprilia Tuono 457 has to offer.
The Aprilia Tuono 457 gets a 5-inch TFT display same as its super sport sibling the RS457. This display shows all the crucial information like speed, rpm, fuel capacity, trip information, service reminder, side stand warning, engine temperature, date and time. It also allows for smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth. Which enables convenient features of turn-by-turn navigation and SMS/call alerts.
The Aprilia Tuono 457 comes quite loaded when it comes to rider aids. It gets a switchable traction control along with a switchable ABS. More experienced riders would surely appreciate the fact that both of these rider aids are switchable. As turning them off will make for a much more engaging riding experience with the motorcycle. The traction control on the Tuono 457 comes with 3 levels, which helps in altering its intensity. The Tuono 457 also gets a ride-by-wire throttle for instant throttle inputs. The motorcycle gets 3 ride modes which helps the rider to choose the right amount of power input. One of the most important features for the Tuono 457 is the bi-directional quickshifter which helps in seamless up and down gear shifts. Sadly Aprilia has kept this feature as an optional accessory.
The feature list for the Aprilia Tuono 457 goes on. The motorcycle also features an all LED headlight which helps in enhancing the overall looks of this streetfighter. Including the headlight all other lights on the Tuono are all LED. Along with this the Tuono also gets backlit switchgears which makes operating during the dark quite easy. This motorcycle also gets a 41mm USD fork and a rear monoshock, both with preload adjustability. For braking duties the motorcycle gets a 320mm front and 230mm rear disc brake setup.
For the price of Rs 3.95 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), the Aprilia Tuono 457 still offers enough features to make it quite convenient to ride.
However, the availability of quickshifter as standard could have been an icing on the cake. It can still be opted as an option, along with other accessories but Aprilia is yet to announce their price list.
In the Indian market, the Tuono 457 competes with the Yamaha MT03 and KTM 390 Duke.
