From commuters and entry-level performance bikes to affordable ADVs, here’s everything you need to know

The sub-200cc Indian motorcycle market is constantly evolving, with new models and updates being introduced by manufacturers on a regular basis. This year was no different, as we witnessed a range of new options for riders looking for versatile and affordable motorcycles. Here’s a quick look at all the motorcycles that fit into the sub-200cc category that were launched this year.

Hero MotoCorp

Passion Xtec

Hero MotoCorp launched the Passion Xtec trim which gets you a number of small and nifty updates which include an all-digital display with Bluetooth connectivity and a host of features, an integrated USB charging port, along with a side stand alert and side stand engine cut-off function. But the most noteworthy of them all is a segment-first projector LED headlight with an integrated LED DRL. Click here to learn more about the 2022 Passion Xtec.

XPulse 200 4V Rally Edition

The very next month Hero surprised us all with the launch of the XPulse 200 4V Rally Edition priced at Rs 1,52,100 (ex-showroom Delhi). That’s about Rs 16,122 costlier than the standard XPulse 200 4V. This premium is well worth it considering the upgrades, which include a fully adjustable telescopic fork with 250mm travel, pre-load and rebound adjustable monoshock that takes the rear wheel travel up to 220mm, handlebar risers, and a larger side stand. Although, it does miss out on a couple of features that come with the Rally kit. Head here to look for the missing components

The same month, on July 27, Hero introduced the updated 2022 Hero Xtreme 160R. The new Xtreme features a nifty gear position indicator on its negatively lit LCD instrument cluster, now standard across all three variants, and not just the Stealth edition. The best part, these updates come at no extra cost. How much does the 2022 Xtreme 160R retail at? Head here to find out.

But that’s not all she wrote. Hero’s already working on yet another update with a number of functional updates. Click here for the whole scoop.

Bajaj

Pulsar N160

Bajaj launched the Pulsar N160 this year – the third bike born out of the all-new platform after the N250 and the F250. It’s available in two variants: single and dual-channel ABS priced at Rs 1,22,854 and Rs 1,27,853 respectively. It draws inspiration from its elder sibling, the N250, featuring the same projector headlight with LED DRLs, LED taillight, split-seat setup, a single-piece handlebar etc. The power plant though is a whole different story. Here are the specs of the bike.

CT 125X

Bajaj launched the CT 125X and positioned it as the most affordable 125cc bike on sale in India with a price tag of just Rs 71,354 (ex-showroom Delhi). It features a stylish headlight cowl which houses a V-shaped LED DRL and a small visor, a unique bit to see on a budget commuter bike. However, to keep costs in check, the bike misses out on connectivity features seen on its rivals, the Hero Passion Xtec and the Splendor Plus Xtec. More on the CT 125X here.

Pulsar P150

The longest-running model in the Pulsar family finally received a much-needed revamp for 2022. Almost everything about the bike is new, from the design, all-new engine, instrumentation and its comprehensive feature list. If you’d like to read about the P150 in detail, head here.

Yamaha

FZS-Fi Deluxe

Yamaha launched the FZS-Fi Deluxe in India at Rs 1,18,900 (ex-showroom Delhi). It carries a premium of Rs 3,000 over the standard FZ-S FI but gets a handful of updates, including a new LED taillight, coloured alloy wheels, dual-tone seats and LED indicators. MT-15 V2

We’ve been drooling over the Thailand versions of the MT-15 for years now, and from the looks of it Yamaha finally heard our cries. It launched the MT-15 V2 in India on April 11. Prices for the 2022 Yamaha MT-15 start at Rs 1,59,900 (ex-showroom), which is a premium of around Rs 12,000 over the previous model. The most noticeable updates include a 37mm USD fork, cast aluminium swingarm, a revised digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity and new colours. For more deets, click here
