After a long wait, the detailed prices for the facelifted 2023 Tata Nexon are out. It gets a whole host of updates for design, features and powertrain options to try and stay ahead of its arch rival, the Maruti Brezza. If you’re amongst those tirelessly going through all its variants, considering what the competition has to offer, and narrowing your choices between the Nexon Fearless and Maruti Brezza ZXI+, here are 5 things that we think favour the top-spec Nexon facelift over the top-spec Brezza.
Of the two, if you want your next car to come with a torquey diesel powertrain, then the Nexon is your only choice. It is offered with a 1.5-litre diesel engine that puts out 115PS and 260Nm. The only powertrain option you get on the Brezza is a 1.5-litre petrol engine making 103PS and 136Nm.
The Tata Nexon features a bigger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system as opposed to Maruti Brezza’s 9-inch unit. The infotainment system on both the cars support wireless Android Auto/Apple Carplay, but the one on Nexon is paired to 8-speaker system over 6-speaker system on the Brezza.
New to the 2023 Tata Nexon is a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster that also features navigation, making it easier for the driver, as they don't need to rely on the infotainment system for directions. Maruti Brezza features a traditional speedo-tachometer setup that comes with a multi-information TFT colour display.
Another noteworthy feature in the Nexon is its ventilated front seats. This convenient feature has slowly turned into an essential one, thanks to the rising temperatures during summers.
The Maruti Brezza does feature an automatic climate control system and AC vents for the rear passengers, but no ventilation for the seats.
Apart from the standard safety features, the Nexon gets a TPMS, a valuable feature considering how crucial it is to maintain a proper tyre pressure for a safe and comfortable drive. The Maruti Brezza comes equipped with standard safety features including 6 airbags, ESP, and hill hold assist.
Prices for both the models are in a similar range: the 2023 Tata Nexon Fearless is priced from Rs 12.50 lakh (ex-showroom) for the petrol and Rs 13.90 lakh (ex-showroom) for the diesel, while the Maruti Brezza ZXI+ is priced at Rs 12.48 lakh (ex-showroom). Considering the factors mentioned above, we hope this has been a valuable read for you.
